Are you in Nz by any vhance because all the soils i cn find in my local area have alot of slow release ferts, in fact i have never even seen a soil here that doesnt contain slow release unless i drive about 120km both ways to a bigger city which i cant do hence the reason i am asking kiwi growers what they use when theyre in my situation. I supose if i still cant find a good organic soil in my local stores then id have to order online but again as i mentioned i am not realy too keen on ordering this stuff and delivered to the same place the grows are taking place(theyre growing in soil at the moment that i picked the slow release out of)

With a long enough veg time the slow release soil might not be an issue if your plant can handle the nutrients without becoming burnt. It's not a good idea though compared to plain organic soil and no I live in the States.

Best advice I can give is ditch the soil and go hydro.

Just build a rdwc setup. I have two 4 pod systems.
Too much work for me atm. Soils always been an easy go to for me, the problem i jave is simce moving to a new job i dont have any major cities near by so im stuck with warehouse and mitre 10

All good. Nothing wrong with the tui pot soil from mitre 10. Used it loads of times.

Fertilizers at the end of the day are all basically the same shit anyway. But if your using soil, you quite often don't even need added ferts. You just pot up as the plants get bigger. That way, each time you pot up, so "feed" them.

I would pot up all the way through veg and do my last repotting about a week or two into flower and that way there was plenty of ferts for the whole grow.

Dont know if you picked some yet but I like to use 100% perlite. Usually get 2 bags of it for $20 from mitre10 mega.
All the soils I would always get issues with ants making nests in it since the house is built on a ants nest. They dont go near the perlite tho.

Im assuming you feed them like crazy with no soil or are you doing hydro

I made the switch to running mainly DWC awhile back and only use perlite now for starting new seeds since its easier to look after when you have a unknown seed.
I take clones of each one before putting to flower and if I find a nice one ill switch that into the 4 bucket DWC setup.

But here is how I run them in perlite.
Sprout in paper towel.
Then pop into cloning cube and keep that moist until roots show out the bottom. (usually 1-2 weeks)
Flush old perlite with hot water and allow to drain and cool down. (Since your can reclaim about 90% of the perlite when harvest is done by shaking the root ball out)

First week of veg have the perlite pots sitting in ice cream container so can leave a little bit of water in the bottom. with a very weak feed. (1/3rd ice cream container)
Water as it goes down from the ice cream container.
3rd week remove that ice cream container since I run quite small pots 6.5L I need the bottom space for the roots.
Then just have them on a saucer with a little bit of water in it (I veg for 5 weeks since im height limited)
Feed once a week with tomato power feed and cal+mag. Water every 2nd-3nd day in veg when the pot feels light.

Switching to flower keep on the veg feeding for the first week. Then flush with a lot of water to get the nitrogen out of the perlite.
Half way though 2nd week of flower start to feed twice a week with fox farm flowering feed.
On flowering Week 7-8 only use water every 2nd day.
Then let it go 4 days with out watering before harvesting.

Here is a old picture before I upsized my grow. (Was flowering week 7 from memory)

Yes true it is called weed for a reason i spose but id still be keen to find out what the kiwi growers use from the common hardware stores in Nz. I have tried a few soils from them in the past and ended up getting these annoying worms that ate my seeds aswel as flies that hatched from the soil, unfortunetly time is a huge problem for me so if i want to do it i have to do it right then first time and not constantly stuff around with shitty soils. One thing i can get tho is peat moss, perlite and compost but in terms of making up ansoil of my own thats all i can find.

LOL! Kind of ironic:
Name of the soil : Pot Power
100% weed free.

Can you get anything like worm casing soil in NZ? I wonder if he could mix that in to improve the soil. It is pretty cheap in the States and is super dark black.
Yea we can get casings here. Do you think a mix of perlite/vermiculite, coco coir, and worms casings be good?
