Hey guys, I'm thinking about growing in a couple of weeks. I'm still learning everything there is to know. I heard Black gold is a really good soil, and its also organic. Is Black gold a good choice for putting my germinated seed into? Or is there a different soil which is better for the Sprouting/Veg period? I'm also confused on what lights to buy for what stages, along with nutrients. If you guys could help me with any of these questions that'd be awesome, thank for your time :)

Black Gold All Organic, Fox Farm Ocean Forest, Sunshine Organic, Light Warrior, and the like, are pretty much all quality soils. I prefer to use Black Gold All Organic and Fox Farm Ocean Forest, so to answer your question, yes Black Gold is a fine choice. Although these soils can sometimes be fairly pricey, they are a great way to start an all organic grow. About your lights, you really need to decide what to use depending on how many plants you want to grow or how big your grow room is. For the veg. stage, the best light is a Metal Halide, and a High Pressure Sodium for the flower stage. That can get kind of pricey though, and it all depends on what you want to do. You could substitute the MH light for Fluorescents or even use the HPS light for the whole grow. There are also many organic nutrients you can use, I prefer to use Earth Juice, but I know some others prefer Bio-Bizz. You might want to check out other forum posts or the Grow FAQ for more helpful information. Hope this helps.

Well if you're going to be growing 10 plants or more, you're going to need a lot of light. At least a 600 Watt HPS, I'd prefer higher though. Depending on your space and budget, you might want to try a Sea of Green grow. You haven't given many details, but if you browse the forum I'm sure you'll find plenty of other good information. :peace:
