Hi all, I am new to the MMP and I just started to germinate 1 AK48 and 1 BlackJack seed. My question is how long should I keep them in the veg stage if I want to take cuttings to make clones?

A clone is best taken from the bottom 2 limbs and most go with 4-8". How long to veg. depends on many factors.

I hope you have a MJ grow'n book, a scope and a PH meter (they are a few of the most over looked things that can be very valuable (IMHO)).

if you start from seed the average wait for it to be safe to take clones (when they are too young, they sometimes just die on you), is approx 1.5 months... 8 weeks is better, but if it must be sooner, 6 weeks is best... also though the venerable jorge cervantes says that the clones should be taken from the bottom two limbs, you can and should take clones from all over your plant as some work better from the top and/ or middle sections.. some of the most successful clones that i've taken have been from the top section... each plant is different, so take the time and get to learn what your plants need and want when being trained for cloning... there are several great books out on mmj growing: cervantes, rosenthal, green and edwards have each written a great book with informative answers to all questions you may have regarding these questions...

How ever long you want longer life means more places to cut. My move is cut the clones the same day u move them in flowering.

You might want to try going to a RIPAC patient/caregiver only meeting to get some clones.. In my opinion, a newbie should start out growing clones for many reasons (you always get females thus, the anxiety/frustration level is lower,....)
