My state of Illinois has passed the medical cannabis law and has anyone had much help with cannabis for the side effects of anti-seizure medicine? I am a retired 58 year old and suffered a grand mal seizure in June and had a lemon size menningioma tumor removed a week later. I am taking Dilantin and the side effect ar awfull and would think this would give me some relief. Any help would be appreciated as I have not much luck from other sites.

Fist off, welcome to the show.
I myself do not know enough to guide you on the type of meds, but I know that medibles and other tinctures and the likes are more than likely where your relief will come from.
The Medical section of the forums and Concentrates and Extracts will have some answers for you as there are folks in there that have similar needs and have passed on a lot of great information to access.

Thank you both very much, I used to smoke quite a bit back in the 60's and 70's (who didn't) but had to quite because of random drug test in my refinery. But now that I'm retired I would like to get back into it, along with growing some for personal use. There is allot of information out there and takes some time relearning all the newer stuff...but enjoyable!

i would run a high THC strain after you found one you liked
and also a high CBD strain and used them both together
CBD is the painkiller / has more positive medical effects with out the head high
i do know that cannabis has been used successfully in treating epileptic seizures
honestly dont know




but lets be honest when has a joint / vape / dab / or edible not helped almost any situation :D

they have some killer high CBD low THC strains
have you checked out the mail order seed banks ?
or are you going to go through a local source ?

Yes,I won't be able to get signed up until the end of the year and won't start until next year. Another big deal is the law does not allow us to grow any cannabis but there are 2 additional laws to be voted on that allows small amounts to be just misdemeanors so they will or should leave us alone. That's what I'm waiting for because of the cost and the strains I need.

no tell ..... no smell ..... no sell...... and the amount of plants you would need to run to cover yourself wouldnt be worth their effort or time in my honest opinion
have you looked into autoflower's they tend to have a naturally higher CBD a pretty high THC on the newer strains
there are alot more people then you think that grow
and most are not in legal states just tossing that out there

I lived in Houston in 78 but with wife in Arlington at cancer center, had a grand mal seizure and a benign brain tumor, they lost me twice but brought me back. If I wasn't in Fort Worth I wouldn't be sending this right now! Great medical facilities!
