New grower and new cfl grow

Here is what I have learned. Hopefully it helps. Managing heat in a small cab is tough. If you are not pulling enough air from the top adding a small circulating fan just moves the hot air all around rather than letting the hot air flow to the top of cab.

Another benefit of the air purifier is that it doesn't allow for light leaks like a regular fan. During flower this will be of importance.

The best way I have found to extract air from a small cab is by using a $40 air purifier from Walmart. It also filters some of the stink. These things draw a lot of cfms and are stronger than regular fans. I found computer fans didn't do crap for my heat issues. The air purifier should be placed at the very top of your cab. Cut a hole in the top and tape it in really well with duct tape. Then mess with your intake holes to find the right amount of negative pressure.

I have a similar thermometer. I feel like it's most accurate if I put it in the shade. The direct light seems to mess it up.

Thanks for the advice.

Is that air purifier loud?
I kinda need to keep this stealth as possible.

It's sort of loud..like a fan, but with a slight whine to it.. take one home and plug it in.. If it's too loud just take it back. It sure works great though. Pulls so much air. I couldn't grow in that cab without it.

Here's another update.
Did some leaf tucking so the tops can get direct light.View attachment 3336782View attachment 3336785
I think this is going to be a nice CFL grow.

Less trouble not trying to work in a sealed box. I always start out making it a sealed grow, but eventually I just open the doors and let the girls get some air. I grow in my basement, in a room, in a closet, with a curtain, too. I don't worry about leaked light.

True. I do think its much better and easier that i took off the doors. Much cooler all the time. No need for multiple fans.

I just put my timer in and set the schedule 18/6.
I was running 24hours since the little seedling.
Gonna fill up my screen then flip to 12/12

Your girls are looking mighty fine.
You're running two hps in that cab that you showed me?
No, that cab was my first attempt at a grow :) Turns out it's hard to grow in such a small space. I could scrog 1 plant in there with a 150 w hps and shallow pot. I just use it for early veg

This is a tent I made from PVC and panda film. It's 5 feet tall. It is inside my closet so it's stealthy in case maintenance shows up unannounced. All I'd have to do is kick the venting back into the closet and shut the doors. Two 150 w hps. 4" vortex fan and filter. Runs about 3-4 degrees F above room temps... I'm hoping for around 6 ounces from this grow. Been vegging those babies for about 8 weeks.

Yea, if you veg the shit out of her you should get two to three ounces... I normally get two ounces out of my 3 ft tall plants and I'm far from a master... Even 1 ounce is a lot of bud. Fills a 32 ounce mason jar.

Don't dump the fans! Air circulation is as good as fertilizer. I had one near the top of the grow to move the hot air down. One in the middle to give the leaves a breeze. And a small one to blow across the soil after I watered. The small one keeps bugs from making my soil a landing strip.

My journal has a few pictures of my grow, which is nearing the end. I vegged for a month, flowered for two. Used 320 watts of CFL power and so far it looks like more than 100 grams of dried crispiness. You can see what a disorganized mess mine was, you could easily beat me.

Could you post a link to your journal pls? I am very interested to see... I agree, a fan across the soil is good...

A little update guys. Two tops touched the scrog today. Hopefully they all reach the top in 2 days so I can start filling the screen. Really excited my first grow is going smoothly so far.

Question: what's your guys opinion on foxfarm open sesame for flowering? It's the only nutes I have right now. Saving up so money to buy the foxfarm line on eBay.
