growing on this site suggests that CFL's won't work, than they won't.

reflector, and socket can be made adhock, I have seen some mega grow rooms, only photo's that had just the
bulb hanging in the socket, so that can keep your cost down. The damn bulbs! They are the not thought of killer
I think, but everyone has there opinion on this issue that Hortulux has the best.
You will have to shop the Grow shops, Amazon, Ebay for the best current pricing on the ballast.
In any case with indoor growing "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" really applies.
Also RM3 is a great member to ask questions, me not so much, and again good luck, you will do great.
