hello everyone im building rdwc system but there are some things im unsure about and im hoping you pro's can help out :-)

how many and what size tubs should i be looking at to go under a 600w light? i grow in grow tents size is 2.4mtr square so there will be 4x 600w in there,
now im unsure whether to go for 4 under each light in something like 25ltr/50ltr 6/13gal tubs or 2 under each light in 80ltr/21gal tubs, i obviously want to fill my space but will 4 under each light be too crowded?

say ive got 6 plants in 6 gal tubs and an extra 6 gal tub used as the reservoir, i understand the res is used to keep the circulation going but if the PH or EC needs adjusting dont i need to empty all the water out of the system into a big tank, adjust ph/ec then refill the system?
If i did this straight into the res tank wouldn't there be a ph/ec spike while the system mixes?

im sure ive got more questions but i'll make this the last for now i dont want to bombard you too much!
do i only need a water heater in the res tank i dont need one in every tub?

Im not a total noob ive been growing for about 5 years mainly in coco but have grown in mud as well, ive been looking at these systems for a little while now and it never ceases to amaze me on the results i see you guys get,,,,,gonna be up n running in 3 weeks
I'm running 15 gal.RDWC undercurrent.Im running a 600 watt air cooled hood,I'm using 31/2 gallon black buckets with 6" net pots, air diffusers in my buckets & air stones in my res.25 gal mag drive Aqua Hydroponic water pump.

im gonna be setting up my new system today, what should my starting nutes strength be? im using house and garden aqua flakes and my plants are well rooted in jiffy pellets.

should i be looking at half strength or is that still a bit strong?

EC should start at 1.0 and climb from there.

Wutz happening,I'm running a 600 watt air cooled reflector & my grow spec is an 8'x10' xtra room,in that room I have a 4'x5'x4' grow box with 4 3 1/2 gallon buckets with 6" net pots.I'm running a 16 gallon Res recirculating 24/7 you P.H. in ur Res should be 6.0.You always check your PH in the Res bcuz it's a recirculating system.Keep your reflector about 18"-24" away from the top of the canopy of your plants.A chiller is a must, set it @ 65-67 degress and you won't get PITHIUM "AKA" Root Rot.Good Luck.

ok would there be enough pressure/ water flow rate from the chiller to use as the pump for fluming?

thats great cheers ttystikk, yes an 8ft square tent with 4x 600w the tent will be treated as 2 flowering rooms with 3 weeks apart, i dont know how many plants thats still a bit of a mystery cause i dont know how big they will get, idealy least amount of plants that will fill the area but may try 4x in 8gal buckets under each light.
if thats too many then i will cut back too 3 or even 2 under each light,

they will be getting 3 weeks veg time thats why im thinking i may need 4 under each light to fill the space
How's this working so far?

i wouldn't mind an opinion on how they look, a few look like there going a little light green in the centre of the leaves
there 2 weeks in there tomorrow and were rooted in jiffy pellets, res sits at 22/23c not gone above and looking at bringing that temp down a little within the next couple of days EC has been steady 1.0 Ph stands at 5.9,
theyve got one more week doubled up then i will move them to there own tubs so they will be each in there own 42l tub, ive just dropped the water level to about an inch bellow the net pot,

ive only been using house and garden aqua flakes no other additives

not really sure what else to add :-)

Waaalllll where ya been, Squidge?! Missed you!

Those little girls are looking great, they're just hungry! Give 'em a bit more to eat; run your EC up to 1.4 for veg and up to 1.7 for peak flower and you'll be thanking me!

I'd use just your base Nutes til about the 3rd week of veg then I'd start introducing additives @ 1/2 strength.Yout ladies look healthy so u don't want to burn them. What Strain? An additive I'm using is called "Pro-Tekt" by Dyna Gro it's a Silica additive. It will help strengthen the stalks & branches so when you go into flower it will get stronger so it can support the weight of Colas or Buds,it's made my plants branches way solid compared to my last grow.

Pro tip: ( which means don't fucking debate me). Use pro tekt as ph up when you mix your nutes. Silica REALLY helps strengthen stems and it's not found in any nutrient formulas.

Pro tip #2. Don't be a fucking douche bag and by protek, go online and buy 5 lbs of potassium silicate. Mix 1 pound with one gallon of water. Know you have your own pro-tel for about $4 a bottle.

Non pro tip... don't drop your water level until there are solid roots coming out. Like a bunch of roots, not just a little custer.

Then slam the lights on them, spray with humic acid and watch them fucking explode!!!!

Thanx for the tip,I'll stick with what I'm using,if it isn't broke don't mess with it.

By that logic, Corvettes would still have straight sixes in them. Frankly, trying different things is the only way to improve.
I hear what your saying. The Set up & the Nutes & additives r making my ladies explode in this DWC undercurrent.Im into flower 11days & my ladies have already gained 12"-14" they're stretching like a Motha & bulking up.each grow I'll tweak my Nutes just a hair & that's all it takes & when it's DIALED IN ITS THERE.

There's always room 4 improvement with every grow,& every grow will get better every time.

I had to thin my ladies out last night that's something I usually never do during flower but when your trees r growing into each other you gotta thin me out & concentrate all that energy to the tops.
