~new cfl grow~

ok so my last go didnt go as planned... however im up for round two.

I havent take many pictures seeing as the last generation didnt make it, however i have at least 8 plants looking all nice and lovely so i decided to make another journal. I have a feeling these Babies are going to EXPLODE so lets all check and watch this one.

Plants are about 2-3 weeks old using commercial grade potting soil(same one a local nursery uses) no nutes yet and about 12, 23-26 watt 6500k CFLS.

In the small 8n inch terra cotta buckets i wasnt seeing much growth, BLAH!!! switched these babies in to 5 gallon buckets from a local Dairy Queen(was filled with strawberry concentrate) maybe ill even get some extra sweet buds, anyway here on some of the pics i have taken of the Closet and some of the plants.

well..... i had to up and move outta the closet... the babies were getting a bit to big, SOOOooo i had to sacrifice my recording studio lol..... but anyway heres the pics of the setup and the plants.... and dont mind the 1 random red cfl in there, just doin a little experiment on a dying plant.

BUMP..... I will be adding new pics tonight they have all got about 4 inches taller and widened up !!!!!!!!

What watt are you using? They look they they are growing good how many light bulbs you using? 1 per plant?

i too would know what watt you are using and how many plants per light. i will def keep checkin in to see how your grow is going. i have a similar setup but with a DWC.

currently i am using 1, 26w 65k daylight cfl per plant until they get big enough(about a foot) or if i see a spot on the plant not getting enough light, I add more to it, it seems to work well..

not to mention the buckets are close together so some of the light from one plant is being shared with the one next to it...so, for the most part i light per plant and add more once the fan leaves begin to shade parts of the plant and put more lights on the shaded part.(My largest plant still only has 2 on it and 1 in between that one and another....soo2.5?) is that unusual to have this many large plants using so little cfls? this is really my first grow and i think its going well...

Im going to start to flower a few, but im lost to whether i want to use a second room or closet to flower a few at a time and leave the rest in veg... or just swapp out all my blues to reds and flower them all, any suggestions... and i will try to put up new pics tonight.

AND ALSO! on a few of my plants some of the leaves are curling downward i know i saw something on here for that before and its definately not overwatering, i just cant remember if it was
-not enough light
-humidity issue(currently between 25-35 depending on the day)
or a nute issue

Well here are some updates for today(plants only) i will upload pics of the setup again later(added more lights)

Im pretty excited... now my only thing is i have 20 foot tall plants with like 26 cfls (26w) When should i flower and should i go with all red cfls or just a blend of 1 r 1 b? Is there a better way for me to organize these babies so that the lights would be more efficient?, THANKS in advance!

ok, well sorry to say to my fellow CFL growers, these guys got WAY to big WAY to fast.... so i had no other choice but to go HPS, im going to flower soon, and im realizing how many CFLS per plant is going to be much more $$$ than just going with a 400 w hps(which i just ordered) and using the 25 CFLS i already have, so this will now be a CFL/HPS Grow

my HPS came in today i did a brief setup, and took a couple pics, im in work now, but when i get home ill make it all nice and perdy... heres what i got now...ENJOY

am i not going to get any comments until i start throwing up budshots lol! sorry this is just my first grow and im pretty excited.

QUESTION- i still have ALLL those CFLS should i use those with the HPS as supplemental lighting, or is the HPS enough??? i could easily put some in but whats the point of overkill.

looking awsome man, id save a couple cfls for side lighting just to fatten up those lower buds when u flower!

hey nice grow its going really well, i will be keeping up with it.

Also how high were your CFL lights from your plant when you started growing?
How high is the HPS light from the plants?

The cfls were always within n inch.inch and half.... and the HPS is now2.5 to 3 feet above i have decent reflector.. Picked the whole setup on htgsupply. nice prices.... is that toooo much height away for the HPS?

No i was just wondering because you have nice plants so i wanted to do what you did

oh, well Thank You! this is my first grow i think im just really lucky.. but i do check on them daily lol...... But to anyone else is 2.5-3 feet too high for the HPS, it seems to be working but only got it 2 days ago... im not too sure about HPS

WTF i got this fucking nifty camera and i took some sexy ass pictures tonight of my plants day 3 of flowering with the final setup, and the USB isn't a standard USB... and i cant find the Fucking cable!!!

Stay tuned i will find this cable and i will upload my pics and show my finished 400W HPS and CFL Setup(little stoned and pretty proud and happy i finally finished this shit....)
