New Beginnings for Massachussetts and I

True, but not really an issue for me since I've taken the 2 N into account in my formulary. I stop using cal mag and switch to a sweetener during flower, so the N doesn't end up causing issues there either.

Botanicare cal mag plus is what most people refer to, so I point that out.

This plant went brown overnight. It had some nitrogen deficiency and yellowing lower leaves earlier in its life but not on the sugar leaves like this. Still can't find an Amber trichome. The other plant in that tent had the same feed and is lush and green. Did it die from cumulative abuse or age? It is an auto just over breeders flower time. I read you pull them before the sugar leaves go yellow.
I think it looks done, especially for what you want, and it looks pretty damn nice. First grow? Good job.

WW Auto Day 41 & HBSS Auto (bubblegum cut x w.w auto) Day 11

Total newb question:
I have never reached this far before with a plant. It seems my WW Auto is in pre flower.
When do I say officially "Flower, Day 1" ?
It has been in flower for two weeks, probably more. Autos will show preflowers quite early compared to photos. The first preflowers probably showed at 3 weeks or so.

Nice to meet you Rootz! I have a website, and I mark the days. I just have no clue when to say "flowered" so I guess I will just keep posting as is, day 42, day 52, etc :-) Normally with a photoperiod people count going 12/12 as first day of flower, but with autos you really dont know unless you are looking every day. Well, I should rephrase that....I check her every day 10 times a day, but I didnt know what I was looking FOR!

I broke out the FF Tiger Bloom yesterday and added a little to her watering along with the Grow Big. It felt great to crack that Tiger Bloom open, I was so excited. I...well she...made it to the flowering part!!

What do you DWC guys/gals use for movement and aeration in your pots? I got THIS 400gph water pump the other day from a friend for $10 bucks and it is amazing! I cant use it quite on max as it is to powerful, but the added Venturi aeration kit makes the water bubble and churn like crazy. I took a little VIDEO of it in action and posted it on YouTube. I was using an external dual air pump with (2) stones, but it just didn't seem to be doing what I wanted. OMG, the humming of the air pump sounded like a jet landing...it drove me crazy. (Like there isn't enough noise already from the exhaust fan and (2) rotating fans in the tent. Stealth? I think NOT!) The new water pump is virtually silent.

Finally got off my ass and made space for my newly acquired 5 by 5' tent- just started 4 Pineapple Kush clones in little tent( late in clone as plants are just flowering, but by putting back on 18/6 hope to reveg.(uncharted waters), now the struggle to set up new tent, and what next? Getting light challenged- have my 2 Led and one 600Hid left- figure 2 led in 5 by 5 with 4 plants and 600 in 2 by 4 tent- will eventually get another 600, but currently financially challenged( broker than a dead dogs dic- old adage) Any thoughts on light setup? And another 600 might be a challenge on my 20 amp line, with 2 going now, it would be above the 75% figure for circuit. Ok, just refigured watts and I can go to 1920 and still be in the safety zone, so 1800(3 600's) and 2 exhaust fans@ 68 watts- the other peripherals can go on extension to 15 amp plug.
Don't run all of that on a 20 amp circuit bro you have to plug into another 20 amp circuit

Welcome Kanda, what exactly are you asking or referring to?I'm going to assume tent height? If so, 5'2"- gonna have height issues at some point
I'm dealing w the same thing right now and I know from past expieriance that if it's possible get on another circuit I'm wiring in. 100 amp sub panned for where my new tent is going and I will be sure to have the 4 600s il be running in it that I will not put more than 2 on a single 20 plus I have a bunch of fans

I have a lot of spots running around before my eyes.....

I finally got my new meanwell driver from arrow and hooked up the quantum qb288's 3k's. The driver is a 320-c2800a and the 2 boards are wired in series.

With my current blurples, I push about 25,000 lux at about 18". With the new qb's, I'm up over 60k. Yeah, I know, different spectrum's and all. But I don't have a par meter.

I also have 10 xm-l2's (5k and 6.5k) that I use around the edge for fill. Those push well over 10k lux all by themselves.

But dang, they are bright. And even at full power they use less wattage than the blurple. I'll dial them down to about 275 watts or so and see how that does.

I'll post pictures tomorrow when I get them hung. Not done yet, I want to get some active cooling on them, but good enough to hang.

When the majority of pistils start receding into the calyx, and the calyx start swelling, that's when to start watching the trichs with a scope. This usually happens 1-2 weeks before the plant is at its peak. Leaf color doesn't really have anything to do with it.

Preflowers don't mean it's started flowering, just that is mature enough to flower, that's why it's a PRE-flower. I'm pretty sure it's just a single calyx at a node. Most autos I've run didn't start anything I'd consider flowering for a week to two after showing them.

Autos don't usually state their separate veg and flower times, just from seed sprout. Only use it as a guide, they usually go longer. Go by what I posted above. I'd say that's about week 1 of flower. I'd stay on veg nutes until the stretch stops and you see bud clusters forming.

I am just learning too...but my baby has a great root coming through the bottom of the net pot at 12 days. I must be doing something right! :-) I got a 400gph submersible water pump from my friend for 10 bucks. She got it on ebay for her aquarium for only $19.00....and it came with the venturi aerator kit.

what size is your bucket? I think that if i went lower than the 400 for my 5 gallon bucket it wouldnt have been enough. 400gph sounds like to much for a 5 gallon, but its not. the bucket is deep, and pump has to work harder to aerate the water and surface. Im telling you this thing is SILENT. The setup I had to start was an external air pump and stones. The external air pump was so loud it drove me crazy. I will never go back to soil now. I love being able to actually see the heart and soul of my plant~ the roots.

Keep an eye on your water temps. Those submersibles really heat up the water. Especially in small buckets. You using hydroguard?
yep, using hydroguard. I certainly learned about the res temps, they shot up with pump. I have ice bottles in the res to keep temp down under 75.

LOL...never thought of it that way~ literally giving baby her bottle. I only change them out twice a day with 2 liter soda bottles filled with frozen water. Once in am when I check on them and take water readings...then again at night when I check on them. One more step to add for now I guess....but it is better than listening to that freakin air pump all day. Hopefully soon I will be able to move the tent out of my living room into to its own room. I will probably switch to using a high power air pump with stones again once its somewhere I cant hear it. :-)
