New Aerogarden Grow

Alright, well I've had my AeroGarden Pro 200 for some time. I've already started to grow herbs, chives has the smallest root system because most chive seedlings died young. I planted a piff seed (Cali Purps) in with chives, it has sprouted and has its first True Leaves and a new tiny growth set appearing. I planted the germed seed on October 9th. It looks very healthy so far. I water the resovoir to the 'Fill To Here" line and sometimes slightly above. Please note the Aerogarden Pro 200 has the 24" Extensive Lamp Hood with the 3 Gro-Lux Bulbs, the best bulbs Aerogrow has to offer. With you help I'd like to make this a journal and for the people of the forums guide me through a successful grow. I have curious questions I'd love to have answered by some people who have successful grown bud or have seen grown in the Aerogarden before.

My Questions:

  1. The seedling is growing in the front far right pod, are the Gro-Lux lights enough for this young plant (9 days old) or will I need a CFL or 2 more?
  2. I'm currently using the herb nutrients provided in the herb seed kit, so far it has shown no yellowing to the plant which I heard could happen to some plants, is this ok?
That's all I have to ask for now, please help if you can and thanks in advance! :peace:

I started with an AG and ended up with a Frankenstein...lol...

I am about 2 weeks from harvest...

Swing by the Mini Aeroponic Garden if you get a chance...

As for your questions...

I have added many lights to mine... because I thought I needed them... and still do...

OK, so I decided I'm adding a 14w CFL 2-2.5 inches away from my young plant. Check the pics out tell me what you think and what I should modify.

Yes, its growing with herbs, next grow they wont be, but for now that's the way it's going to happen.

Questions:

1) What should I add, subtract, or modify?

2) Is the 14w CFL (aprox. 2 inches away from plant) good to have for such a young plant and could it use more?

3) I heard the yellow light spectrum isn't very signifigant to ganj, but I have a bulb should I use it anyway?

i have an ag thread too its called "yet another aerogarden... purple xtrainwreck."

keep in mind that the ag has a very very tiny resevoir for the roots to go. im no expert but i would get rid of some of the other plants if you really want to get something out of it. try growing one or two female plants alone in the ag for maximum nuggetry.

as for lights, the bigger the plant, the more light it needs. check out the guy, korvette1977, who is growing hijack. he has a really good method. i recomend reading his whole thread before you start; it's helping me a lot.

I see a little plant struggling, gasping for light...

Everything else is so much bigger... puts the light so far away...

It's stretching...

I would do whatever Vette is doing... he is the AG master... no one has better results consistently...

Light is good, I like light... my plants like light...

Here is what 7 weeks with more lights has done for me... and I have a bit to go still this is just an early pick...

Cheers...
