:dunce: Hello... Newbie me is at it again, Spending Money at local Hydro Shop. Just Got a 4" centrifugal fan. 171 c.f.m. and was told this one has a little power for my mini HomeMade Grow Room. I was thinking of hanging it in the right corner? But, I didn't buy the filter to fit it... (i'm Broke for now). I also picked up 25 ft of 4" ducting and clips. I don't have hanging hardware? I should of picked it up there probably. Dohhhhbongsmilie So then just run the tubing up into the atttic or under the house? Not sure yet where im making a divot? I'm thinking attic? dryer vents? W/ flaps that shut when fans off? maybe t-fit it into dryer tube?

I used to have mine tied into the dryer vent. Great idea if smell isn't a concern. I have since then run it out the roof via a roof vent. I use mechanical dampers so when my fan or ac is on or off the damper opens and cloes accordanly. I also have a inline ozone generator for smell in case of a down draft. I have close neighbors. Hang your exhaust fan close to the top of the grow so it sucks out the hottest air first. As for which corner, were ever you can fit it the best. To hang they usally come with some sort of flange that can be screwed to a stud, use a couple sheet rock screws.

If you have no mounting brackets then you could simply tie it up with some rope. Not great looking but it gets the job done.

thanks guys... i have mounting brackets, in the box.. I guess I could hang it from the 1/2" sheet of hard wood and not plywood that I already have covered in plastic for a ceiling..?

do i need a filter? or can it just pull the air in?:dunce:

hanging the duct is the easy part, there are a few good carbon filters out there for cheap, can 9000 is around 50 bucks so is the elf or the gobblin but i think thats a 6" so yeah out the roof would be the best option but pretty much anywhere that is not noticable will do good

dude I watch to many flir videos too just pull the hot air out of a roof vent? com, on.... that can't work for everybody.. I have a feeling that, because I live by 3 random miny airstrips and hear planes shutting off engines all the time and gliding around w/ random choppers from military and coast guard.... I should be careful for the man above... and the dude that lived in this house before me... got the place jumped by feds for growing and my landlord aquired the house and property from the bank seizure..... damn great news huh/>?
