Need tips/help with harvesting seeds on very small scale.

I am hoping to get some help, and advice on what i have planned here, but first I have just a few notes - I have some very limited space and must grow indoor, but I also must find a way to get my current Romulan clone in seed form. Since everywhere is sold out, my plan is harvest my own.

My thoughts were fairly simple (I think): Take a cutting, and using the SOG method combined with the colloidal silver method, quickly get that cutting into male. Harvest that pollen, take another cutting and using the SOG method again rush her into flower. Pollinate her, harvest seeds.

I have a need to keep costs and space low, so that is my main reason for going the sog route. I am hoping to use something like the space bucket style grows, using very small wattage lights.. keeping the plants home very easy to move around, cheap, and extremely small on space.

My questions are: first off, does this sound remotely reasonable what I have in mind? Secondly, what type of light would anyone recommend for a 1 plant - bucket style grow (I can use the same bucket for the male, as the female that I seed later.. allowing me to save costs and keep things sterile and away from any other grow areas, etc..) ? And, lastly.. any tips, etc. that anyone can offer that has done things like this.. whether it be bucket grows, seed harvesting, silver spraying to herm, pollen collecting/storing.. etc. Ive found all of the threads that give advice, like what can be found in the advanced growing section.. so Im on to a fairly good start, but I would really appreciate tips from those that have also done this before.

Please take this the right way

But i would do some of your space bucket grows before you add the complication of seeds

Get a system down first then add seeds

Just one dudes tiny oppinon

You're making it sound difficult to grow with space buckets brother? ..Do you know how many people do this on a daily basis, growing in those little space buckets? Seems like fuck tons to me.

With that said.. advice noted. Wholeheartedly ignored, but noted none the less. I dont have time to fuck around with practice.. practice comes with actual experience, not fucking about. If I took the time, to learn how to grow sog in a tiny bucket.. Id get pissed and fucking kick that bucket off the cliff on my property. I mean, why fucking grow something that might only get you a damned 1/4oz.? I get that some people have fun with that, but again.. I dont fuck around as much as I can.

Also, I am a US Marine. We tend to be overly aggressive, jump right into shit after minimal thought, and typically.. knock it out of the park when we swing for the fences. Im planning on nailing this shit, and will keep you posted Brother. I mean no disrespect, in any way.. you're a good man, and I appreciate that. I just want you to know that since sometimes reading little words, leaves out the genuine context.

Also, I dont plan on opening buckets.. I'll place them on a shelf, upside down.. light attached to the bottom of the bucket, you lift up bucket and set it aside. No bending, no opening, no stress.. :)

I would take two cuttings. Keep them small. Reverse sex one and pollinate the other with it. I would also look into using the silver thiosulfate method for reversing sex so you don't have to spray but once or twice. I've done exactly that to save seeds from a strain that I didn't want to lose but didn't want to keep or have the space for a mother.

Good luck.

Just the logistics to me are scewed unless you need that levle of stealth but come on how many buckets plus lights plus sockets cords and plugs

Not for me but im not saying not to do it bro.

Id use those buckets for dwc :)

1 bucket, brother. I'll use one to grow the male, get the pollen and collect it. Then I'll kill him, start over with a new cutting and pollinate her at the right time with the collected pollen from the male. This will take longer, but time is not important. Like I mentioned.. space is key, and cost is next.

I have no need to set up an entire room to grow for seeds if I can simply use a 1 bucket and a small light, correct? I mean.. you say dont do it.. why not? Is it not possible, to do it this way.. or is it just no one has before?

Brilliant, that is exactly what I had in mind.. but had not heard of the silver thiosulfate method? I take it, you're saying its different and better than the colloidal silver? I love better, and easier.. is it fairly simple to make/obtain?

And I am in your same situation. I want to keep this strain, but also want to grow some other things next.. and somehow still not lose this strain. I dont have mother space, and dont like taking clones of clones.. but with the seeds hopefully down the road when I have space I can find a nice mother to keep long term. But for now, I just need to somehow not lose this strain.. as it may be exactly what I need for my nerve damage/pain.

Both collodial silver and sodium thiosulfate solution do the same thing. Sodium thiosulfate solution doesn't require as much spraying. I think that's better. You can make your own collodial silver very easily. You have to buy sodium thiosulfate and silver nitrate and mix up a solution. You should check out this thread for more information.

I finished my little Roughneck trashcan "spacebucket", for my seed harvesting..

Im so happy, the little fucker has ZERO light leakage. In or out. And it looks just like a normal trashcan until you try to lift the lid or pick it up. Tested it for a night with lights on, and its stable at 78-80f inside, with the fans on low.

Gonna get started next week with my cuttings.. will update asap. :)
