Need supplemantal light!

So i went to Walmart on a mission to get lights. i looked at every single one and at all their specs. i don't have a ballast. i was looking for cheap and bright. i was not finding much over 1000 lumens. i then stumbled upon a light that was labeled Grow Light. It seemed like an obvious decision:wall: even though it wasn't as bright as i knew it should be. i figured this "Grow Light" was made for growing healthy plants because that is how it was advertised. I bought two of them and a timer. I realized soon after they weren't going to be strong enough. i am gonna return one of them and would like to replace it with something better. is there a light that is cheap and would make a good combo with the one i have? i don't have the luxury of outdoor so i am kinda in a time crunch. i am not picky about my results as this is my first time. if anyone can help me out with as much as a link i would be greatfull.

thanks

CFL's. You can get smaller wattage's at walmart...but the big stuff is at Home Depot or Lowes like CiderSpy said.

Yeah... walmart pretty much sucks in that department.

Are you looking for CFLs? High output floros?

I'd go for T5's over T8's, but that's just me.

thanks, will one T8 do? I found the bulb for ~$2 however a one light fixture is ~25 is there a better place for buying the fixture or am i gonna have to bite the bullet on the fixture? could i make one? i am pretty mechanically inclined, have you heard of anyone building there own fixture having bought the ballast ~$12 ? what's the temp of the T8? chances it would be a fire hazard?

I should have specified, I'd go with T5 HIGH OUTPUT. That's what I use, and I love them.

cool chart! i looked for T5HO and they are all over $125 so bottom line i am not getting one. the T8 is the next in line i guess. will one T8 be enough?
