need some serious advice on what to do,,,

im hoping that im posting this in the correct area,,,
heres the issue my landlord has let my roof leak for a long ass time and it got so bad it ruined some of my belongings so i went and tarped up the roof,, well over 6 months later he still hasent done shit ( now you know why im growing in a rental house ) but now the city is having issues with a couple of my cars on the property and some mess ,, that im taking care of ,, but the inspector for the city had mentioned that the main reason that he was making it an issue is because the tarp has been up for over 6 months, and is after the land lord to fix it ,, awesome for me kinda ,, but im afraid that they might call in the health dept. because the septic is also in need of maintenance,, and the septic clean out is ten foot away from my grow room where i have 3 mothers going,,

whats the take on what i should do ,, should i trash the plants and tear down my freashly built room. does the health dept have the right to inspect the whole property? or the city?
or do i take my chances do they make a appointment to do an inspection and do they contact the tennent or the land lord and if they contact the land lord does the land lord have to notifie me of the inpection....
or am i completly paranoid...
please im looking for any and all angles on this im in a illegal state,,, so ill be going to jail...

my advice. call the health department of your city and ask
laws are different everywhere so it could be illegal in my country/state/city but legal in another users,

you will get varied answers, best to call and hear it straight from the horses mouth.

if they do have the right to inspect and go into your home, you will be notified ahead of time, most areas have a 24 hour notice law/period.
if thats the case, than take down the grow since youre in an illegal state.
but i personally wouldnt do so until youre notified of said inspection of the house/apartment

imho sounds like you should move, anyone who doesnt take care of their rental property, are bound to be breaking other landlord tenant acts, and violations and rights. i wouldnt feel the inside of my home was safe.


now having said all this i should mention most states also have an emergency clause, should your home be in an emergency state, they do not have to give you 24 hours prior to arrival and can come into your home unannounced, without you there etc.
seeing as your roof is leaking, and has a tarp on it, that MAY be considered an emergency via health clause and tenant rights violations as an "unhabitual" home, and therefore they may actually be able to just show up unannounced and you certainly wouldnt want that with an illegal grow.

tho you are growing weed illegally, you are also playing with cholera hep. hiv and whatever grows in sewers

co-operate or be doomed

move ur plants to a U-haul trailer until its clear is an option

I agree with vostok about the health department having great powers in most countries. With that being said, I personally would move the girls to a temporary location. A friend of mine recently had a similar issue, he used a company that drops off a storage container they came back a week later and hauled the container to the storage facility. He used the container for 5 of the 7 days to hide his plants while inspections of his home took place. He did end up deciding to store some stuff in the unit, as he had to sign a 3 month storage agreement. All together I think he paid bout $500.

Lot better then looking through bars.

well so far theres not a threat of the health dept,, just the city inspector not liking the blue tarp on the roof,, but since its been up threw the winter and during lots of rain,, they might think of mold and what not,, the grow room is locked for sure and its carbon filtered so theres no smell,, but if there was to be an inspection would i get a notice also or just my land lord,, im in the us in notrhern illinois,, im home pretty much all day so them just comming in with out my knowlage is kinda sketchy i might go to the store,, and the city inspector doesnt know about the septic system yet ,, i kinda want to let the land lord know to call a guy while all this is going on maybe i wont have to deal with the governmental agencys on the septic stuff,, maybe ill get lucky and they will do the right thing...
2nd i cant afford to rent a trailer my only income other than my ssd is my grows and its a minimal amount of sales at that ,, and my grow has been down for awhile due to not having luck with clones taking,,

might be late post.. but i doubt they will even have an inspector come out.. its a roof leak, you arent changing anything structural.. and whoever your landlord sends out to fix the shit, i wouldnt worry too hard.. most contractors dont give a fuck, not worth their time to bust a small grow. odds are they will be a pot head themselves. why dont you just watch some youtube vids or something.. tell your landlord to take some money off your rent. and fix it yourself?
