Im having a bit of a quandary, I am at the end of week 8, 3 days left in it. It's an Indica dominant strain called Triple X.

I've been doing my best to wait for max ripeness, waiting for pretty much all of the pistils to have turned from white to amber/orange and for them to recede into the bud (basically for a good bit of buds to be fat and ready looking). Also ive been monitoring the trichome coloration changes.

My quandary lies in 2 places:

First, the pistils. Every day, more NEW white pistils pop up out of the tops and sides of the buds, increasing the ratio of white:orange all the time.

Under maginification ive seenthat most of my trichomes (75%) have already gone from clear to milky to an off-clear-milky. Like they're not milky white because I can see through them, but they're not clear cause there's a slight off color....

Not to mention, the earliest buds are FAT AS HELL and swelling....

I WISH my media card reader were working so i could post pics.

Maybe im over-reading the harvest guide....

Can anyone shed some light on this situation?

pictures, probably wait 2 or 3 days and then leave lights off, not watering for a full day or two before harvesting.

if i don't water the plant will die.... i live in the desert, the rel. humidity in my grow room never exceeds 35% because of how arid it is, lol and i can only hang my buds for 1.5 days as opposed to the normal 5-7 before they're very crispy.

Alot of folks will chime in, but personally I don't harvest by hairs/pistils colors...ever. The trichs colors are what you want to monitor closely as the color determines what type of stone/high you can expect. I believe you are on the right track, since you mentioned you are watching them already. You might have some growth left in those buds, but gotta watch the trichs! :) Good luck!

...you will see amber trichclones mostly starting from the top cola...then slowly decrease as you go lower down the plant. Some harvest the top 1/4 of the plant one week, the 2nd 1/4 the next week...exc....until the plant is gone. You won't have amber trichs all the way throughout the whole plant. I'd suggest harvest'n when the top 1/4 is amber, and the 2nd is mostly amber...the lower 1/2 of the plant will be mostly milky. Good luck.
