If you are confident that your plants can take light intensity start out at 24" and try to move it down little by little until 18" but you must pull back if you see light stress.
If your plants can't take intensity then at 36" or dim it somewhat. These are high intensity lights and they will fry/bleach your plants if you give them too much too soon. Make sure to keep temps up when giving higher intensity.

by the way is there any way to check if my scorpion diablo was used before???
the package was pretty sloppy and i just want to be sure ,its not an cheap toy

I should receive my Diablo on Monday, so will let you know.
From my readings I believe that in full flower the lamp would be 18 to 24 inches from the canopy.

yeah i did not say nothing about them
im just abit paranoid that the store i bought from may did few runs with it.probobly they opened it for test that the light ok but still just to be sure...

is there anyway to cheak if the light was running for some time ???????

It should still have the full warranty,
I would contact the folks you got it from and question them.
If they do not give you the answers you are looking for, send it back and buy from someone else.
I bought mine from the manufacturer, got a great price.
