That's not a bad idea, Traingrow. However, adding tap defeats the purpose of RO water in the first place. If you think you're 3-part is lacking something (which is why you feel you need to amend it) then amend it with what you think it's lacking. Your plants will tell you that. Right off the bat I'll tell you you'll have pH drift. A cal/mg buffer would be ideal - gh 3part is cal/mg deficient.

I'm also one of those that doesn't feed seedlings until week 2 or so. you'll see they don't need it. I start fertigation at 1/4 strength and eventually build up to full, 1/4 strength each week. You can always add more but why if they don't need it?

He's right GH 3 part lacks Cal/Mag so you will have to buy some GH PH up and PH Down very cheap and highly recommended.

I use gh 3 part and additives (camg , fplus ,fblend) and tap water sat out for 7-10 days. My water ph is 7.4 when i add my nutes it brings anywhere from 5.8 - 6.0 i only have to use ph down a few days after when theph flucs. Dont know why but it works every time. Good Luck.

Happy Growing!

I happen to have some ph adjusted fluids from gh . I've got a question about cloning in dwc . How long does the rooting usually take without nutes? I used rooting powder and put the clone in the system with water about an inch from the bottom of the net pot and its been about 6 days. And I still see no roots coming out of the pot, however the leaf tips on the plant are bent up and turning brown, is this the time to mix my gh 3 part got 5g of water and adjust ph to 5.8?

Takes about 10-15 days to get a lot of roots remember not all your clones survive.

The micro has the magnesium. Lucas formula with add-back method ups the mag to the level needed for MJ to be happy. Tap water provides calcium. Viola, cal/mag and a rock steady ph in a rdwc setup. If you can fine tune the system to match water/nutrient uptake and use a decent size res, you shouldn't need to adjust ph for weeks. Just ph the addback water (keeping in mind that if you need to add back nutes, they also lower ph so throw them in the water first).

Quote from Lucas:
"NOTE: The Lucas formula eliminates the need for Epsom salts to correct (Magnesium) Mg deficiencies in most normal feeding programs recommended by manufacturers. Cannabis needs a lot of Magnesium to thrive."

FWIW the local tap water around here is 8.0/100ppm.

Good luck, Traingrow! Happy growing to ya.

Sounds like you need to back your lights off if it is not wilted. Build a cheap aeroponic cloner next time, MUCH faster. Nutes are a bad idea. Set ph at 5.5-5.8.

The clone has taken and its root system is developing quite quickly its sitting under some flos as I've switched to the 400w hps bulb in my flowering chamber. It's 23" from soil bushy as shit sour diesel . I stood up 4 4' flos vertically surrounding it and put the 400w mh on the side of the plant to try building up the side branches . I did that until they were nearly all the same size as the main stem . Moved it into my flowering chamber last night but due to work conflicts I haven't got the door on that side of the cab yet so I have 2 4' flos vertically (4 bulbs) for side lighting and 400w hps above . Plan on adding another 2 flo fixtures to help develop those lower/side buds. Switching to 12/12 tonight or tomorrow.Whatcha all think ??

Expensive electric bill ;O hahha. Do you run solar panels?! <3 It sounds killer/overkill. My skunk female has 2 main colas and they constantly compete with each other haha.

Well let's see.
1 400w hps
2 4' flos fixture 128w for flower

2 4' flos for a clone that is absolutely loving hydroponic128w want to add more.

Will the flos really help much for the lower/ side branch bud production?????
First day of 12/12 tonight

How much of a difference between no side lighting ? I know a lot of factors have to be taken into consideration but are we talking a few grams here or like a half or more?

Anyone?? I know its almost impossible to determine how much but I'm just wondering if it would be significant... also today I checked on my flowering plant and found that I forgot to plug in the flos in the flowering chamber into the 12/12 timer  so the 400w was off but the flos were on for 24 hours? This won't Fuck my plant up will it? Figured the big light comes on at 230 so ill plug in the flos to the timer when it comes on. Should that be okay ? Just a worried stoner. Guess ill double check my work next time I get:eyesmoke: and work on my setup...
