So ive made bubble hash a few times now and i dont understand what im doing wrong. I Use jorge cervantis technique and i have a 8 bag system. I use real good trimmings, only the crystallyest trimming go into the mix. I follow it step by step and yet every time my hash dont come out gold. It always comes out green, and i dont get very much. I freeze my trim for 24 hrs before i make the hash, but i have tried a few different ways. Can anyone give me some advice on what im doing wrong? Thank you so much happy growing.

My first guess would be that you're breaking up the leaf too much when mixing. That may be why it's so green, the leaf is being blended into tiny enough pieces to get through the mesh.

i agree with the other poster, are you breaking your trim down before? i use bubble bags every crop to make my hash, one time i blended my trim before and that was the only time i made it and it was greenish, and i dident get as much as usual. I would just throw the trim in without breaking down alot.
and if this is not the case and u are NOT breaking the trim down small could you please post on your exact steps you take when making. I`ve seen the jorge cervantez bubble hash making video, but just want to see if their is something your over looking.

i just shake mine in a glass jar with some ice cubes for half an hour, then filter it. That way the plant matter doesnt get so small that is can get through the mesh

Are you drying your trim before you freeze it? It will pretty much turn to dust if you are. I just throw my fresh trim directly into the freezer. Then from the freezer into the work bag with ice and water.

ok, i take my buds, trim the fan leaves off and any small leaves that dont look resenous. I throw them away. I then trim all my buds down and put the sweet leaf right in a bag into the freezer. I then freeze it atleast 24 hours, but usually it s afew days before i make the hash. I then take my work bag, put it ina bucket, and put ice, water, then trim. I top it off with more ice, and water, whatever looks appropriate. I mix with a blender for 15 minutes, and every few minutes i reach my hand in and pull the bottom trim up. I let sit for a half hour. I then jig the bag upward gently and remove it. I pour the water into another bucket that has my 7 other bags. I filter each bag out and put the hash on a screen, press the water out then dry. Am i doing something wrong?

blender???
Of course you chopped up gobs of leaf material. That's what a blender does.

Not all is lost tho.
Run the material you are calling hash thru a quick wash w/ Isopropyl alcohol and you will have the resulting hash separated from the leafy material. It's a super easy process since you now have a small amount of material.

Next time, use a spoon, stick or anything that gives you a better control of the beating. You need a somewhat gentler agitation to dislodge the trichomes

you are putting too much non resinas leaves in,i haved washed in the 7 bag for years and i get oz,s of gold awesome glittering lumps of bubblehash.but when i first started i was putting all the leaf off the plant in and it had a touch of green (but i still got pure gold from the 73 bag as that has the tiny micron to catch the cream..you gotta put some amount of pure sugary trimmings of nothing but leaf with crystals on,if it doesnt have crystals on it dont put it in the bubblebag......how do u mix?i use a power drill and ice obviously and i use a plasterers mixer and give it 45 and 15 mins spinning for each wash.hope it helps.........roll on

Ok, not quite as bad, but a mixer still is beating the leafy material off w/ the trichomes, as you've obviously seen.

If,
the beginning material is fresh or fresh frozen,
and gentle to vigorous manual mixing is used,
for a short(5-6 minutes)period of time (the shorter the agitation time, the purer the result)
the result will be mostly uncontaminated trichomes

The only power equipment that does the job properly is an agitating washer.

Every method proponent says their solvent is best, but iso washing what you have is simpler and tons safer than butane.

Crush your product through a fine metal sieve into as granulated/powder as you can
Dissolve it in a mason jar of the purest iso/everclear you can find and coffee filter the liquid solution into a pie plate
Set the pie plate out in a ventilated place w/ a screen on top to keep out dirt. This small amount of solution will evaporate easily in a few hours w/out any heat source. I use a fan or heating vent when available......there really shouldn't be any need to rush.

The amount of drying time will be a direct result of the iso(70-99%) or everclear(95%) that you use.

it really is mostly common sense

SubCool just put up a pretty good video of the manual bubble process

no, i put very resenous trimmings in the bags only.

I just made a batch and it turned out green. I used more leaf than usual and beat the shit outa it for 10 mins w a masonry bit ona drill. I dont usualy use so much leafy matter and beat it gentler. You are getting good advise, keep experimenting and you"ll get it dowm. I'm backing off any BIG laefs & I'm going to try banual agitation nex time. I've seen youtube vids on those washers. they dont mix very hard at all. Happy hashin...

Iso is the best and easiest way to make good hash.
You can find the 99% iso in most grocery stores.
And you don't really need to grind up the weed before making.
I just use whole buds ( depending on size ) and wash them ( swirl the jar ) for 30 sec...filter through cheesecloth and viola !
Coffee filters are ok in pinch..but you lose too much as the paper absorbs the oil. Cheese cloth is better.

Your problem is that you are freezing it while it is wet. When you do that, it causes the cells to rupture. Next time, dry/cure the leaf before you freeze it and you will have a much better result. Good luck!
