I have been growing some plants in a grow box and the plants are 1 month old and only a couple of inches. the plants turn yellow and start to dry. I cannot seem to get them right. the temp is from 85 to 75 degrees i have 6 23 watt (100 watt) in the grow box, also have a fan inside and a fan on top taken air out. potting soil is miracle grow seed starter. i have not added nothing to the soil but water. i also have problems with the humidity any body know how to keep a constant humidity in the box? thanks for your help

Did you mix perlite in that seed starter??You should be giving light nutes by now and watering every other day, give or take....I would definitely transplant into something better than seed starter. What's the rh problem....Too high ,too low??I assume too low......You can keep a wet towel in a bowl or bucket to raise humidity.Do you have pics of setup and plants??

No i have no perlite and the other soil i do have is miracle grow organic mix. i did the towel in a bowl and in that little bit of time the humidity is at 22%. here are some pics

Sorry bro but those look too far gone!:(Yep ,no perlite, plus you used MG:)......always mix in some perlite in your soil, especially seedling soil. The roots need room to grow. The compacted soil in those cups stunted root development causing weak nutrient intake.
Mix your soil 1/3 perlite to 2/3 soil,50/50 for seedlings. Then start 1/2 strength or less dosages of your particular nutes when the second set or first five fingered leaves develop. In solo cups it should be easy to determine when to water by the weight of a dry soil cup compared to a watered soil cup.Hope this helps.GL

And that fan would be more efficient mounted like thisPhoto11261529.jpg

.......and....lol.You might need a humidifier to raise Rh if it will always be that low.

yeah as b166 said, mount the fan the other way. have it exhaust the air out. then have a "passive" intake. aka a hole on the wall of the grow box. if the fan pulls out more then the hole then you will be okay with heat and such. may only need like a 2" hole or bit bigger if that fan is small.

as for humidity that is a bit low, im already low sitting at 35% but id rather have low humidity then higher and likely to cause mold. I grow in a basement and its winter here so it help with humidity plus a dehumidifier if i need it is located there as well.

I have 2 plants in the MG Organic right now and they are both running good. they are in flowering stage now and no problems here. MG POTTING mix is bad tho. had so many problems with over-fertilizing with that crap. The Organic will be okay tho.

Hey bra. Happy thanksgiving everyone. Let me Start by saying I am a very new grower. but dunk , from what I understand u want to avoid miracle gro. yea it does amazing things for tomatoes n lettuce but too many chemicals for bud. also I think u r gonna need more lights. from what I've read u need 10,000 lumens per plant... I use cfls too its great to put out a lot of light without a lot of wattage... I have similar issues but mines still just a baby. I'm running a hydro system tho
