Yeah but by checking run off, we'v e discovered possible lock out . . . . .

So if there are problems, testing run off, can give you an idea . . . .no??

Ba Booom!!!! You said it ;)

Yeah I think it's either salt build up or lock out

yeah I think it's either salt build up or ph lockout fox farm is known to cause salt build up and I don't know about my water. Untill then should I just use distiller water from the store. Like regular gallon jugs of water?

i don't like distilled for growing, just regular drinking water should be fine. you want something with cal/mag in it so you don't create another problem

It's starting to progress and fast so I just was trying to figure it out before it gets worse and also so I can prevent it later on. I give her a gallon at a time and after about 1 and a half days she's dry again so pretty much a gallon every two days
I don't have problems ,I don't PH or EC anymore .after so many grows it all falls into place ,to me I think that water amount is abit to much ,when you water it must piss-out , what do you do ? have you a catch tray .?

I just always watered untill runoff to make sure it all gets enough water. I could cut it down to probably about half a gallon without any runoff and no I don't have a tray I just put a towel underneath it to catch the excess water. I have never had any issues either untill now but I'd hate to waste money on a meter just to use it a couple of times. It has to be my water though because my last plant that I just harvests did the same thing with rust spots all on the leaves it just didn't have those bruised black spots on it like this one.

that towel must be catching some excess water mate ,ringing it out ?
tell you the truth ,that is what i do now any excess just mop it up .

I have a wilma tray ,1mX1m square ,I only do 4 plant now in 11ltr pots .as my Mrs on my back lol .women lol .

i fill a bucket 10ltr water no more ,mix my nutes ,lets it stand of course, feed ,like you say every 2 days .

I change the towel every time I take it out of the tent when I water it then when I'm done throw the towel in the dryer lol and I know what you mean my girl doesn't want me even doing one haha

I upped my water ph to about 8 and the run off was still at 5 I don't know what to do to fix it I'm going to try and put some more dolomite like and see if that helps

Yo,

Toxic solids could take that long to build up if you have high EC tap water. We could be witnessing some sort of lock out.
What color your run off please and the PH of it?

so my meter just came in today and the Ppm of my water is only 74. Mayber it's not a lockout and I'm just starving them? I mixed up a butrient solution at the strength I usually feed them and even then the ppm came out to be 435 so you think I need to just up the dose on nutrients?

So yeah, looking like a good old feed is gonna perk her right up bro ;)

I've had strains that have been fed that rate nearly every watering!!

No worries bro . . . .just make sure everything that goes through the soil is Phd to at least 6.5 ;)

I would still be interested to know the EC and PH of your most recent run off when you get there . . . . ;)

I upped the ph of my water to about eight and the run off was still 5 and that was yesterday, I'm gonna have to figure that out and I'll check the ppm of my runoff I didn't get one with an EC meter and I don't know the conversion for this one.

Okay so I just fed the ph going in was 6.5 the ppm was 935. I gathered the runoff in a cup the runoff ppm was 1540 and the runoff ph no shocker here 5 again. Most of that going in was my ph up every time I add ph up the ppm shot up a couple hundred. I'm almost better off just feeding at the low ph fox farm nutes have since my soils not going up anyway.

Ahhhh ok then dude . . . . .. it's gonna need just 6.6 to 6.7 PH'd water for a few waterings . . . . too much nutrient in the root zone throwing off PH I reckon .. .

What color is your run off, mid tan color?

Water it the next four times, (PHd to 6.6/6.7) allowing for at least a gallon of run off each time . . . .

It's not really a tan color it's mostly clear light green kind of like the color of my nutrient water. I'll try the plain water for the next four waterings though. It really only has like 3 weeks left so hope she can hold on. I might just give plain water for the rest of the time. I guess I'm going to have to get something other than fox farm nutrients this is the second plant this has happened to

Are you collecting your run off in a clean catcher or have you allowed previous run offs to dry in your drip tray??

I actually don't even have a drip tray I usually just get a towel and let the runoff go on the towel but this time I just picked the pot up and let it drip into a glass cup.
