I mix in some perlite and worm castings, that usually gets me thru veg without using to many nutes. In flower, I run 8-900 ppms every watering, wait for it to dry,but not bone dry, still a little moist, then feed again. all the way to the end.

Does pro mix its self.contain nutes?...haven't picked bag up yet
i use pro-mix or sunshine mix or any growing mix i can get at the local nursery. its about a 3.8 cu.ft. bale usually comes from canada and no nutes in it. i use the fox farm nutes and i start with 1/4 strength big bloom after around 7 to 10 days of popping the soil.

i have good results but this year i am going to try adding a little extra perlite and dolomite lime into the mix.

Yeah I've been doing some more reading and it doesn't seem too much diff....just feed as normal basically is what I'm finding out....just a good quality medium seems like.

Just a tip. Never go over 600 ppm and you will probly need to use a mix of grow and bloom nute in flower to keep green. I usually feed, feed, water unless the plant needs something dif. I start of at about 150 ppm for clones and at the end of veg im at about 300 ppm. I also add a touch of epsom salt every other watering.

AND, I would FOR SURE recommend synthetic nutes. Its an inert medium with no organic matter in it. If you want to use organic nutes than get an organic soil. Also I mix in at least 40 percent perlite as peat holds a shit ton of moisture. Works awesome!

I use straight pro-mix from home depot. I don't mix anything in extra. It does not contain any nutes.

6.3-6.5 Ph is what I aim for.

FUCK PRO-MIX. You guys are overpaying for bullshit, just grab a bag of straight canadian sphagnum peat moss. Promix is a very, very inconsistant product with its liming agents so if you're shooting for control just lime the peat yourself. Buy a bag of BioAg VAM and use on transplant for mycorizhals..

I think Pro mix is the shit. 30 bucks for a bale. Some lime and worm castings and your good to go. So for around 75 bucks I have a great medium to grow around 25 plants. Not a bad deal.

I pay 14 bucks for four cubic feet at homedepot. Only thing it is missing from BX is the mycor. I can buy that cheap.
