Need A Diagnosis........

I have a mother that just hasn't been healthy since day 1. She is now into her 15th day of flowering and here is a picture of one of her budding leaves. Am I over feeding her? Is it a temp/light burn? I had the HPS about 8 inches and backed it up to about 12 now. Any help would be cool.

Hi Puppet,

She looks under fed...?

Are you PHing your water? This is vital.. without proper PH your plant can not absorb nutrients.. Light green leaves are often a sign of Nitrogen deficiency..

cheers

I'd go with Garden Knowm on this one looks like either under fed or a nute lockout has occurred. What type of soil are you using, what type of nutes are you feeding them, how often? pH is very important in making nutrients available to your plants, if the pH is off then no matter how much N is in your fertilizer it will not be available period. Also do you have good drainage? GL

I've consistenly checked ph with one of those cheap meters that home depot sells for like 10 bucks. Either my ph is always at 6.0 or the thing is stuck because I've never observed a different indication. What can I test with this meter to see if it's calibrated? I bought some cheap soil at the depot that has all the right stuff-perlite, vermaculite, ect. At first I thought I may have overwatered her. I fed her about every 10 days with 'vigiro' (also at the depot) I've done the same with my other mother that I 'topped' and she looks wonderful. (pic enclosed) All I know is that I'm going hydro next grow:hump:

I had the same problem with a cheap meter but mine was from Lowe's. Everything I tested was 7.4 not matter what it was. The cheap meters are not always reliable.

Instead of those analogic meters u can get a Chemical Kit, u take a water sample add a few drops of Phenol (comes in the kit) and u match the resulting color with the chart, it costs about 3$ and its way more precise, get some pH up and pH down solutions and u´re ready to go...or if u can afford u can get a digital pH checker (Hanna instruments has them for about 40$) they are much more reliable and last much longer ...the prob u´re having as already been answered by GK....Peace

im no expert by any stretch of the mind, however, from all that i have read on here i know that you need good drainage, and unless those buckets have holes at the bottom, your not getting any drainage. now if this will cause your plant to look like it does, i dont know. maybe someone else can chime in with an answer to that.

I feel it is a drainage issue as well. As Omega noted, I may have root bound plants due to bad drainage (different thread). I drilled 3 1" holes in the bottom of the buckets. I read sometimes you should fill about 3 inches of gravel at the bottom of your pot and then the soil. I probably should have drilled bigger or more holes.
