Myth busters its the light

lets see if this is easier to read:

This chart shows how close you can get your plant to the light without it receiving too much light. It does not take into account heat.

So very useful...went adjust my lighting accordingly...awesome job D'rat...keep up the good work:hug:

Note that the distances are from the bulb, not the hood. So you don't want a flat plant canopy, you want a stadium canopy.

hate to stick my nose in rat but with the way your measuring that bulb it would be best to use it in the vertical position in the middle of the growth of ur plants. otherwise ur "stadium canopy" will be wasting a third of its growth potential. and again i have to stress if ur not gonna use it vert that u need to put a reflector on that for ur arguement to be valad. otherwise ur sending 50+% of ur light to the ceiling unused. goodtimez

What makes you think I'm not using a reflector? For pure physics measurements I went without a reflector but for growing, and with the chart, a reflector that emits light at a 120 degree angle was used.

quit reading about pg 3 but ive been running my 150,000 lumen 1000w at about 18" in a cooltube so about 20,000 lumens/sq ft temp at the tops are 78 or lower with white rhino and white widow with no bleaching or heat stress the widow didnt like it at 16" so i moved it up

i have my 1000w about 18" away from the tops, and they seem to be doing great. temp is 84 deg all day while lights on. i wanted to eventually move it a lil closer as the tops started to get bigger, im barely in week 2 of flowering. was aiming for a final distance of about 14" or 15" away once the tops developed more. Since my hood is air cooled and i found that around that range my hand feels lilttle heat, any closer and i can feel it burn.
