My second grow Kandy Kush

Hi guys, this is my second grow, my first grow died because I used bad soil (soil from outside) but this time I'm using Fox Farms ocean forest. I just planted the Kandy Kush after I germed it using the wet pape towel method. The light I'm using is a 26w 5000k CFL, I know it should be 6500k, but I also will eventually be using a 65w 6500k cfl that I have, and another 26w 5000k cfl. This is kinda like a journal so ill update when it sprouts and ill try to update like every few days. The container I'm using is a plastic cup that's like 16oz but ill transplant to another and then to a 3 gallon in the future.

I'm jealous. Mine is 1.5 weeks old and doesn't look as good or full as yours.

Of course, I did kinda screw up the germination. I had the paper towel part down, but I planted them in rockwool since I was planning on going Hydro, then I got scared and ended up planting in soil. So, I took apart the wool to get the root out carefully to plant in the soil. Yea I probably stunted it, but I'm still seeing development.

Or just stick the seed fingernail deep directly into the wet soil, I have near 100% germination keeping it simple. Everything looks great so far tho! Dont go stuffing a bunch of ferts down her!

Not really off topic, but my tap water (private well, not softened, no chlorinates) is really hard. 250ppm alkalinity as CaCO3. I homebrew so I'm a total nerd about my water. I have some Jack's Classic, but I'm not gonna start mixing that in until I've got a really good sized plant that can take it, probably as she starts to flower.

For the next round, I'll germinate in paper towel, then just go right into the soil.

image.jpgimage.jpg Thanks for the feedback guys. This is at 1 week from sprouting and I'm planning on transplanting to a 1 gallon container soon, maybe. Idk, any suggestions?

I say let it root a few more days at least. Its not like it is going there be root bound anytime soon. I start mine in a pot half that size and dont re-pot until like 2 weeks or more. Never had an issue.

OK sounds good, i also have a 3 gallon smart pot I got from amazon that isn't plastic and its almost like a fabric and I`ll use that eventually. Btw, when do you think I should add my other 23w 5000k bulb or even my 63w 6500k bulb? I don't want to overkill but an increase in growth is always nice...

Add the 63w and 1 23w 2700k for a little mixed spectrum and in another week or 2 start adding more that way you can keep the plant covered from all angles. When are you going to flip to 12/12?
