My poor conehead dog.

My dog had this teeny tiny scratch on her nose. She couldn't leave the thing alone. She kept raking her big ole paws over it and now it is this huge nastly open sore.

I went to the vet yesterday and bought a cone for her head. She hates it too. She keeps crashing into things. Poor big girl. Right now I've got her in here with me so I can monitor her, so the cone is off and she seems so much happier. I wish I didn't have to cone her, all the other dogs are laughing at her, she' like the Carrie of the dog world.

I can't wait till this thing heals. Poor puppy dog.

If she could talk she'd say :cuss:

So I took the cone off this morning as usual for the dog to eat her breakfast. IN the time it took her to walk to her bowl she scratched the scab off her nose and made it all bloody again.

Man we're never gonna get rid of this cone. (the other night at dinner daughter was yelling to husband "throw something into her cone" ).

I've seen something different from the cone, it's a soft, fat collar thingy. It's supposed to be far more humane for the dogs, but I can't remember what the hell it's called.

Yeah, cones are a drag. We had a dog that had ear surgery and had to go that route. Easier just to tough it out unless something better has come along. Dogs heal pretty fast and rely on their saliva to help heal wounds.
