My outdoor organic grow

Hey guys, so I have a lot of lower/older growth that is yellowing...I know...nitrogen deff...but I'm using all organic soil and use teas every other watering. Teas are made of worm castings, kelp, molasses, and silica.

Is this just normal or do I need to add N some how?

It's also on the bigger girls too, I just already cleaned them out.

I was using bat guano in my teas before, but it wasn't desolving in the water so I stopped using it, at least the brand I was using.

Do you have any recommendations?

Topdress and water it in. Guanos aren't going to be water soluble like bottled nutes. Personally I'd make an alfalfa and kelp tea, goodness the pots with ewc and water it in with the tea

OK, so you recommend adding alfalfa (in pellet form?) To the tea and top dress with worm castings?

I use the meal but I don't see why pellets wouldn't work

try to avoid the pellets, they are often made with mollases,
also i would highly advise not using teas that often, for you nitrogen def i'd use fish meal, of alfalfa meal.
molasses is good for a lot of things but I wouldn't use it that often, you'll run into lockouts...

bat guano is fairly soluble man.
probably the most soluble nitrogen you can get with the exception of urine.
well actually fish hydrosylate is the best for that

Ohhh yeah I agree with that, miss wording on my part. I meant they weren't going to completely dissolve like a bottled nute. That's why I just topdress and water in. But thanks for the correction the last thing I want to do is spread misinformation

Right on, that may be my issue...I use it alot. I could go the 'just water' route for a while.

Are you talking about top dressing with the fish meal? Ando where would I get alfalfa meal? Feed store?

yea, but for a feed store it's likely gonna be whole alfalfa, and that's a stemmy mess...
and a topdress of fishmeal and wormcasting is perfect, scrape away the toplayer of the soil (gently) and then sprinkle in a thin layer on the soil and recover with the soil.
important to note I DO NOT mean to disrupt any roots at all, just the top maybe half inch layer.
ideally if you can mix in the fish meal in with some fresh compost or fresh worm castings too, that will have a kickstart in the microbes to help get that fishmeal bioavailable

Sound I still move a layer of soil if I have straw as a mulch ?

hmm, good question..
the reason I do that is to ensure good contact with the microbial life in there, my reasoning is that the toplayer is subjected to more drying out.
so if you have a good amount of straw as a toplayer, and it's relatively moist in there, i'd do just a layer under the straw though.

Awesome man! This has been really helpful and I hope the situation improves. I'm still at a loss on where I can purchase the alfalfa but I think I can get by with the fish meal and worm castings.

alfalfa isn't crucial, steer manure works well too, between manure and fish meal and you are good on the nitrogen

Is there any specific ratio you would go about it. I can get more worm castings or I could get steer manure. I need to reup on my raw powered nutes anyway.
