Hey there, i though i would share my grow with you guys. i am fairly new grower so please correct me when i am doing something wrong !

These are my ladies most of them are a 10 days old except for 1 been 3 days old. So far they have only been getting water from the tap which is at 7.0ph. I am waiting for them to develope a little bit more of a room system to switch the ph to 5.9 which i prefer.

Germinated Aug 05
Seedlings Aug 08
10 Days Aug 15

Light Setup : t8 24 inch 4100k, waiting to pick 6500ks tomorrow.
Light schedule: 18/6

Very Nice insan3. I am subbed for your grow. Do you plan to change reservoirs or do you plan to grow all 6 plants in your current res?

Looks like they stretched a bit while starting, try to hold them up with a stake or something or they'll go floppy once they start developing side shoots... Other than that, keep the lights as close as you can (with fluoros you can usually be within 2" of the tops) and you'll do great!

Stay Frosty and good luck!

my setup, Where the magic happens.

So its a 2x2 area ( 4feet tall), i have two 120mm pc fans for exhaust doing 80cfm each and 1 intake fan 230 mm doing 150 cfm.
lights: hps bulb 600w ( currently i need to fix them but they still work )
Fans : 1 for the lights to exhaust the heat and the other 1 to move the air around.
thermostat also in there that also test for huminity.

BLJ, this is what i use.

Matchbox, yeah i started 3 of them the under 1 light and the other 3 under another light bulb also they did strech a bit. The main reason i switch to the setup you see in my first post.

Superstoner1, thanks.

yeah i made sure it doesnt get out. So i am thinking of starting them of at 1/4 nute strength , ph 5.9 , keeping temps under 85f with 18/6 cycle and lights about 8 to 16 inches above depending how hot it lights feels at their highest. what should i aim for humidity ? also what the best temp to keep them at ? is there anything else i should keep in mind ?.

of course all this will be done when they are ready to go in the tub ! so week 2 to 3

i was also debating on switch my light to a 400w bulb with dimmable ballast. so i can dim it 75 %(125w output) or 50 % ( 200w out put) this will help me keep temps down since i have a small are of 2Dx2Wx4T

Also as far as nutes i use GH products ( micro ,grow and bloom), and root developer. i want to get some sort of nute to add oxygen so my roots so they stay nice and healthy but i havent research anything yet. once i pick something i will update.

One piece of advice I received when I first started was about growing different strains in one res. When in Veg, not an issue, but when they flower, each will have different nutritional needs and the other thing is the Auto will want 18 hours of light throughout, while you will need to switch the photo AK-48 to 12/12 at some point. I just went through that myself and found that my auto yield was somewhat affected by this. If you get different phenos that aren't growing at the same rate or have different heights, you may run into the issue of some plants crowding out the others from the light and you may get some tangled roots. Just something to think about.

I started mine out in a tote similar to yours and am very happy I switched to 3.5 gal buckets. Of course a 2x2 space isn't going to fit 6 buckets, but like I said, it's just something to think about. I'll never tell someone they are doing it wrong, but I will share what I have done and what has worked well for me. Others have no problems with growing multiple strains in one res.

yeah i though about the light situation, i havent come up with a solution yet. As far as the nutes i was going to find the medium in between them and then adjust them as they reacted.

I also find that with multiple strains 1 res, that finishing times are all different so when you come to the flush, unless they are all say 8 week strains and known to definitely be 8 weeks, you end up flushing some for too long or too short... though my flush is only a few days anyway but you get the point if your doing it for weeks :)

Have you done a dry run on your flower cab, a 600w in that area is going to get very hot, especially with just PC fans! You want a temp range of 23-28*C and a humidity of about 60% or so in veg and 40% and below in flower. You might want to consider uprating your exhaust at some point (if it starts getting too hot) to one of those Ruck 4-5" inline fans, a 4" cools up to 400w perfectly and a 5" will cool 600w+

Last thing, I don't force my intake with fans, it's a good idea to put as much power on the out take as possible and just drill some holes in the bottom (or where your intake fan is) as fresh air will naturally be sucked in through the holes by the exhaust and so long as the exhaust is running, there shouldn't be any smell escaping from the intakes anyway.

My 4" Inline fan is connected to a carbon filter so that when it sucks the air out it also cleans it. With my closet doors closed there is literally no smell and I am in my 8th week of flowering on my first and current grow.

Because I had only one light, I didn't really find a solution to my dilemma with the 1 auto and 3 photo period plant having different lighting needs, so I just flipped to 12/12 and said fuck it, majority rules. Next time I do a multi strain grow with autos and photo periods, I am going to plan it a bit better around this issue. Meaning I will get the autos going and if it is 60 - 70 day auto, I will stat the photo about 40 days in, so that everyone is happy with 18 hours of light and time my flipping to 12/12 with harvesting the autos.

I can't really tell if you have room to grow your grow space, but a 600w HPS should give you 4x4 light coverage. The solution may be two totes, 1 with AK48 and the other with the auto and removing the AK48s from the light for 6 hours. I dunno, it's one issue I didn't solve myself....

yeah i decided i am going to build a new grow and flower cabinet. i am going to go with an air cool reflector + a 4 or 6 (haven't decided) inline fan. but i was thinking 5 feet tall x 3 feet wide x 2 feet deep. for now i will just have to work with what i got. yeah two tubs will work work to keep the ppm different. i will add some pics in couple days they havent change much except for the roots coming out the bottom.

my best roots :weed: most of them are poking out the bottoms. its almost time to put them in their net pots.

so after much research i decided to build a 5feet tall 4 feet wide and 2 feet deep grow unit. for cooling i am going to go with a 6 inch inline fan. so the air system will work as follow. 6 inch Carbon filter-> duct-> 6 inch air cooled reflector ->duct -> 6 inch inline fan -> exhaust to room. i will have 4 PC fans in the bottom sucking cooled air( about 250 cfm) in the room. For lights i will go with a 600w dimmable ballast. will post pics after i build it.

To all my Noob growers optimal condition to grow in VEG

Ideal intake temp above 60F
Ideal Temp 73F to 76F
Ideal Humidity 50% to 60%
Ideal Water Temp 65F to 75F
Ideal Heat for plants measure by placing hand at highest point of your and if your hand fells warm is good. If your hand start to get hot raise your lights.
Ideal ppm (will depend on your nutes !) but start with 1/4 strength and slowly work your way up.
Ideal PH 5.7 to 6.0, i check every 24hrs if its higher than 6.0 then i adjust it back.

Yesterday i did some build for my temporary spot for the plants in my closet. Since current is to small is causing heat problems. With new the setup my intake temp is 71F and outake is 79F. I also put them into net pots and hydroton. All of the plants had roots coming out the bottom so i put the water level right at bottom of the rockwool so the roots will seek the water. I start them on half streghnt nutes with ppm at 350 and 5.7 ph.

I will add pics later today.

My temp setup. Ghetto but it gets my temp between 71F intake and 76 outake.

yes i know my light is fudged up, i already ordered my new air cooled reflector already. its still safe. They are getting bigger :D:weed:

edit: i forgot to put some reflecting material on top of tub :( will do later tonight
