My newly built Veg Box

Hello all, I recently finished a veg box. I have attached pictures below. As you can tell, I havent finished the bottom segment of the box.

I plan to use the top for seedlings and the bottom for vegging for about a month. I will then put them in my flower tent, and try to keep a constant grow going. After a harvest or 2, I plant on building about 5 more of these. I will use them for mothers, clones and veggings, and I hope to buy another tent for flowering.

I bought the following from Lowes, on sale for $81.

I spray painted the inside with flat white, and then I went back and painted another 2 coats of flat white.

I also used an exacto knife to install 2 computer fans in the back. I plan on adding 1 more for intake and one for exhaust. I also have a cheapy fan in the box, which is perfect for seedlings and sprouts. Any suggestions on where to place the exhaust?

For lights I choose T5's, since the are very practical for vegging. On the shop shelf, currently, I have 3 of these:

I have them all connected to each other, and it seems to be a good amount of light.

I have the box in my bedroom for right now, so temperature never fluctuates under 73 or over 81. It usually stays 74-77, so that is awesome.

A quick question on my lighting. The bulbs that came in my kits are not as large/girth as normal T5 bulbs. I have 3 in there now, but how many would be optimal for 12-15 seedlings? 5-10 during veg? It would be possible for me to buy 2-3 more lights for the top one, and place them on the sides to give a shit ton more light.

Let me know what you guys think!

Seedlings dont require much light. I use about 2 regular CFLS for seedlings, and when I transplant into cups after they show strong roots, I put them under 4 T5 bulbs for a few days then 8.

I am wanting to veg in there also. I have the 3 2' T5's now. I am considering buying 2 more and a higher end CFL.

Just find an old A/C adapater cord, or any old cell phone charger.

You are basically stripping the end wires on the fans and the A/C cable.

I usually strip all 4 connections down, then plug in the A/C cord and touch the live wires to each other, to see which one powers the fan.

I will then unplug the cord, and splice the wires together and use electric tape.

Very easy!
