Howdy all. Recently moved into a 3 bedroom house. Since I had an extra bedroom decided to put it to good use. Im just starting to build, and I'm expanding and upgrading as I can afford. Please feel free to comment and add suggestions. NO negative Nacies or Debbie downers.

12-12 from seed. As the plants start to flower I will start my next batch. and just keep it going. Hopefully gonna pull buds every 3 months or so

10-02-14 008.JPG 10-02-14 006.JPG these are 6 strawberry's under 400w HPS on 75%. All in 1.5 gallon pots with organic homemade soil.

10-02-14 009.JPG these 4 are under a 110w CFL in the sex room (where my select male and female will go to breed)

10-02-14 010.JPG This will be the mother box when I get into cloning. gonna have a t5 setup in there I'm thinking

Its getting pretty warm in there. Im figuring out how I want to vent everything. As of now I have windows and fans, but want to be able to control everything. and windows dont work in december.

the 6 under the HPS have started to flower. I have 1 definite female, 2 males, and 3 still forming. The 4 under the CFL dont seem to be doing much, so I moved them under the other light

Looks like a really exciting grow! You're going to learn so much and have a ball. I am about to take over a spare bedroom as well; kick-ass. Bigger plants and still under the legal limit.

Advice: I would invest in some panda-poly (amazon) to line the walls and floor to make them reflective and water-proof. I would also invest in some fox farm or other organic soil - miracle grow is for growing flowers and other plants that you aren't going to ingest (MG does work though). Um, make sure you've got adequate ventilation/ fans going in there.

Im gonna follow this. Looking good.

I did see a bag of M-Grow Soil if that is what that was. That isn't the one with the time released nutes is it? Some people who use that have issues with PH and also sometimes nute burn because you never really know what your plant is eating. Just saying. Sometimes people are better off with the $ store soil.

Your looking good though. Just saying if you run into problems later on it may be the soil. FLUSH FLUSH FLUSH if you see any kind of nute burn.

Also, the dimmer setting on your ballast shouldn't really be used. People think that it doesn't waste life on a bulb but its harder on a bulb then they think. Always run at 100% unless you really need to turn it down. As in heating issues and such. Even new born seedling have no issues under 100%. Most bulbs aren't designed to be ran lower the the recommended even though they can be doesn't mean you should. I think it took a turn more toward the marketing side of things when the dimmable ballasts came out.

with MG soil the nutes are released with water so flushing is not always a good idea. sometimes better to just let em dryout and go scarce as possible with water.

It was just a heads up in case you ran into a nute issue that was all.
I know, im not trying to be a douche or anything just sometimes flushing makes matters worse with miracle grow stuff since the nutrients are water soluble. yes you are taking some of them out with a flush but if you don't remove all of the little water soluble crystals then after your done flushing they sit in the wet soil and release and your worse off or back to where you started.

as long as he isn't watering 5 times a week MG soil is usually pretty good if you practice good watering technique...its dem over lovers who need to water the dam plant 4x a day who usually run into issues with MG soil.

Cudos never knew that. Everyone that I seen use MG soil always seemed to have problems. I could see how a specific water scehedual would work. never really thought of it.

I don't use it myself because I had issues when I started growing with it. I used to use FFOF and pro-mix @ a 50/50 ratio amended with epsoma garden tone, and EWC. now I grow in hydroponics (though I do have 3 12/12 from seed in a organic soil mix.

I did however learn to use it by the end of my first grow and had some really decent harvests out of it (for a first timer)

sorry we kinda jacked your thread :(

as far as temps go run whatever keeps them in ideal range (71-79) lighting is extremely important but more lights wont help you if temps are soaring in high 80's

if you have a couple bucks to spend I have purchased 2 of these

http://www.amazon.com/VenTech-DF6-Duct-Fan-240/dp/B005KMTYFK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1413470362&sr=8-1&keywords=booster+fan

and for the price they have served me well. well worth buying one so you can increase light intensity while maintaining reasonable temps...

the 2 key components to a great grow are enviorment and medium..medium is a easy one but maintaining a "perfect" climate can get hectic

No worries!! I love the information. The bag of MG was just an old bag used to mix soil. I use natural compost top soil, sand, sphaghnum moss, bloodmeal, bonemeal, and superthrive. I do use chemical ferts sometimes during veg, and beginning of flowering when I feel she needs it

There coming along well, I'm seeing what looks like a few males even though its only a few days into flowering, I just started another 19 seeds. Im definitely liking having a whole bedroom for this

I just added another small box. (1x2x3) with 150W of CFL hopefully for a mother when I get more knowledge on cloning and such.

Im going to post pictures this weekend.

Thanks for following

I bet you've got an extra closet somewhere else to do some breeding. I've been keeping my males; I've got at least 15 brand new strains from this past year. Anyways, a few days into 12/12 is a bit early for differentiation so hold tight a bit longer!
