My New and Improved Flower Room

Ok so I was working on ventilation and lights today.
The first hood has 1- 1000w HPS in it. (Hortilux)
The second one has 2-400w 20000k MH bulbs in them to bump up the UVB and Blue spectrums. They are Radium 20K if you are intrested.
The 3rd hood is still unpopulated as the local had run out of lamp cords but will contain a 600w HPS (Hortilux???) until I can trade up to a 1000w HPS on that end too.

So suffice it to say that I am adding another 1150w of heat to the already 900 or so watts that I added today.
So around 2000 w more heat total.

Well without the addtional 600w on the left hood and with all my current ducting sealed and turned on the temps rose to 89 at the tops of the flowers and 87 as the mean temp of the room.
In addition to that the humidity soared back up to 50%.

I had added a 6" duct through the closet to an inline fan(400cfm I think) that 90s and points directly under the hoods.

Of course this was with the room open most of the time me walking in and out.
90 might be acceptable with the amount of CO2 I am running but I have to get the heat down a bit more to compensate for the other light.
And 50% humidity could spell trouble as the buds get bigger.
I don't want to have to tear everything down and clean it all up to get rid of powdery mildew.

Here are the thoughts so far.
I will add a powered roof vent in place of a turbine and install a 12" duct from my exhaust (which is now passive)to the roof vent.

I have a crappy 6" inline duct booster fan in the attic trying to pour more AC into the room. Step up to the biggest CFM 8" Can Fan they make.
I could also separate the other room and add a smaller 6" duct for it.
Also I am considering hanging the Can 100 Filter from the ceiling and then being very specific how I blow air about the room.
Perhaps by not mixing it so much I may be able to duct higher temp air out and keep the temp down a bit.

It is certainly a fight for inches with such a tight space.
I am really trying not to add a window unit as I believe it would be a dead give away to those around me especially
as temps drop and I rely on it still.

Temps drop off quick in there. 10 degrees since I started writing this.

I hope to start work on the aero system this weekend but it will probably take a solid week to complete as I have a lot of parts that need to be ordered on the internet. I just can't find the nozzles locally. HD is discontinuing their line of misting parts. Which usually means I get a deal, but so far nothing I need.

The more I think about it the better it sounds. To put the reservoir and pump in the adjacent room. I have water in there and if I have to end up using a chiller to keep water temps down, I don't need that heat dumping into the room too.

Looks awesome. I love your setup. Not the way I would do it, but gives lots of insight on what I will do next. Im going to build my own aero setup, once I get tired of soil. Sometime soon. Take a look at my grow in my sig.

OK I have decided not to go aero but continue to do "Drain to Waste". The arguments were that coco would build up salts too much, not sure if I believe that Aero would cause that, and that the coco would cause a lot of maintenance issues with the misters. I buy that one. But because I DID decide to change nutes I wanted to change other things as little as possible.

So hand watering for now twice a day. When I get the room cleaned up from all the changes I will get some pics going.

what up corwin, are you doing any aero/dwc at all or is it all coco? .... what nutes r u using right now?

im doing some side by sides... Canna vs. H&G vs Cutting Edge Solutions, and to my surprise, the cutting edge is kicking everyones ass so far, but they (CES) dont have a flowering booster so i will probably be adding some shooting powder and gravity... im also using some other companies additives with all 3 brands...

also check out "amino aide" by Aurora Soul Synthetics, it has a secret unnamed hormone that works well and increases yield... it is said to have many of the secret ingredients as the Canna Boost Accelerater as well.
I also started using "Honey Hydro Carbs" by humbuldt nutrients as my sugar product and i am pretty happy with it as well.

i know your pretty interested in different nutrients (like me) and thought i would pass the info along.

It is all coco hand watered except for the cloner.

I am using the last of my Canna in veg and then will be switching to GH for my main nute with A mixture of my own for Boost. House and Garden Root Excelerator, Hygrozyme, horticultural molasses, kelp, humic acid, fulvic acid, silica, and Cha Ching at the end.

I was at a friends today when he got a phone call that a worker had killed 2 4x8 trays. That was a tense atmosphere.

And in the ongoing effort to make things better and safer I now have vpn 24/7.

New trays will be coming soon I hope and I will do some updated pics then.

bummer, how did he kill them?

"And in the ongoing effort to make things better and safer I now have vpn 24/7."

-not sure what that means?

I didn't want to pry to much as the atmosphere was a bit tense. I would have to say neglect as the most likely culprit. Not watering for a few days will do it. If it had been pest/disease he could have just called and got help.

VPN for all of you who don't know is a way to prevent others from seeing where these messages come from or where they go. Kinda like a proxy server only better. I will update when I get settled with a company I like. I am experiencing speed issues with my first choice and will be switching to one that showed I should get full speed of my ISP.

Not exactly about flowering but I built a new cloner and have it up and populated.

I am going to need a second one by next week but I have one mostly put together.

 hats off to you man, this is amazing.

I wana do hydro someday and this is great. I know all the types of systems and somewhat the basics, but I haven't got the slightest clue how to start/build a hydro system. If I was going to start, I'd love to try something DIY like this. Ebb & Flow or feed.

Great job, post some pics I wana see these babies! :bigjoint:
