My neighbor called the cops

I get that it is the law I'm saying laws of the sort have no place nor do they help keep children from accessing pot

This poor guy that got me fired because I said "Motherf&$#^&r" aloud in an OR one day - he had them every weekend. For a year. He had signs made "Ad in error - no sales here". People still came and knocked all day wondering if he had anything left after the sale was over. He finally listed the house and moved.
That is great! Its like scheduling every kind of home service estimate for the same day to his house. Priceless!

Trust me it's way better than that and the misery never ends. Pro garage salers will cruise his house and knock on the door to try to establish a friendship so they can buy all his best goods. People who do not read English ignore the sign - they go by street address only. Bedroom furniture sells so fast it's unreal. Very high demand as are tools. Model A and Model T parts. Collectibles (car loads of fat bitches pulling up) with handpicked china plates and ceramics. Depressionware. Carnival glass (that stuff brings out the freaks).

BTW your whining or griping about this is OK. Just so long as part of your kicking about it is a kick to your own ass for going against your own better judgement.

I never understood why being next to a school matters with an indoor grow. If they think children will be breaking in to steal bud then I think the problem is people raising kids who would break into a home. Laws are band-aids that punish those who follow them. Its like saying you can't own a gun or have a script of oxy.
It is bullshit, fear based cuntieness.

The feds shut down some dispensaries with in 1000 feet of schools in Colorado.
They left a liquor store alone that is across the street from an elementary school.

Let's not even do the "weed is safer than alcohol" thing and look at it logically.

Any person can walk into a liquor store, even children.
You can not go into a dispensary with out providing identification. Your visit is logged, as is what you buy.

If some sort of dangerous individual went into a liquor store, he could purchase alcohol with out ID. there would be no record of his purchase. There may or may not be video surveillance.

Dispensaries have to have video surveillance.

So with dispensaries you must provide id, you are on video, outside and in and what and how much you purchase is documented.

A liquor store is infinitely more dangerous to children than a dispensary.
The feds do not give a cold turd about reality.

The day we moved in, our neighbor decided to spy into our side window.. and got caught by the security camera on a place across the street.. I think the spy needs some garage sales, thanks for the pro tip - that's fuckin' genius :D

These laws about schools are some of the only actions cities and school boards could take short of pat downs and metal detectors for the kids in the school. I'm not defending these laws. Add to that the absolute stupidity of making a plant illegal and there is a recipe for disaster when one is caught doing ANYTHING in one of these so called "safety zones" involving any drug or weapon of any sort.

Like it or not, fair or not - that's just the way it is. Try getting public sympathy behind us on this. A fool's errand to be certain.

If your neighbor can smell it, the police can. They can get a warrant and even come in without a warrant if they "suspect" evidence is being destroyed. They will bring a trained K9 unit. Supreme court has upheld convictions where search & seizure was based on officers smelling marijuana.

but forget the cops.

Word gets around. I would be just as concerned with getting robbed. It happens a lot. A friend of mine was bound and gagged and held at gunpoint while a couple guys in ski masks took everything. And then what are you going to do? Call the cops? Good luck with that.

Seriously. This whole thing could be avoided with a carbon filter or two.

The reason I said list the place. Next house? No talkie, big filters everywhere. No soil bags in the garbage, no stems either. Three can keep a secret if two are dead.

All this shit about weed and children... honestly I'd feel better about finding a bag of weed on some kid than a bottle of jack daniels and pack of camels.

I've lived next to the same next door neighbor for 10 years... He was always the one to call the cops on block parties, dogs barking and every fucking time I play music, so I figured it was a matter of time before he called it on my grow. My plants are on their final weeks of flowering in the garage and our houses are close enough That he can easily smell it in his garage. I wouldn't be too worried but I live literally 100 feet from school property. I didnt answer and they left after like 10 minutes. I live In SoCal and have a legal number of plants but again I'm right by a school, ive been told countless times if I just don't answer or refuse them entry to my house I won't have anything to worry about, just wondering of anyone has had an experience like this go bad.

so as of now you really don't know why the cops were knocking?

Cops came with warrant for myself cause neigbor smelled my grow out... easy as that. If you laws do not state to not grow within area of school then your fine. Stay within legal limits... thing is most states have a rediculous bud limit per plant count.

Here is 12/12 plants and 2.5oz max... easy to get 2.5 oz off half of one plant lol. So if they come knocking at the right time and you have bud off plant cause you cut down an hr ago then you may get arrested. Cops are smart an will spy an wait until they think your cut down before going into house with warrant...

Dont listen to assholes saying your a dick for growing next to school. You lived there for 15yrs then they say medical weed helps you an you can grow it then its no ones right to say your giving it to elementary kids and you have to move. Also, dont listen to people say "so your legal an scared, ok you must be lying about being legal" thats duechbag thing to say... i am legal cops came an choked me an shit cause wouldnt allow them access to my place an he refused to show me warrant.

I am legal did nothing wrong, had a right to refuse them entry without warrant and they beat me for saying so. Sounds like you in same possition i was for same reason. Most you can after cops leave is give big smile to neighbor and say hi to him all time. Let him know your not going anywhre an did nothing wrong. He feel guilty

I think its within 1,000 ft for most from schools, churches depending on what county your in, a few others too.
I think the church thing is going too far. You're practicing your religion as far as anyone is concerned.

To the OP....They will go back on smell but hopefully you're smart enough to do something about the odor now that you know to a serious problem.

Then it's time to fish or cut bait. If you're legal get ready - they will be back. If not legal you better get that way and pronto. You think those bastards just go away? Lawyer up if need be and if they come to your house - you need to. Call one now and consult and be truthful and ask if he can represent you should the need arise. Better than picking one by business card next to the pay phone in the jail. Ask if he has a service you can call after hours so he can be there if they try to talk to you. Again, full name only and you want a lawyer. Even if you know you're legal!!!!!!!

In short - anything you say will not set you free or keep you free. It can, and will, be used against you if it serves the purpose of the prosecuting attorney. That is who will make a decision in your case as to how to proceed next. Or how does the DA wish the police to proceed with this matter is more correct.
