My Large plastic storage box grow room

Hey guys this is a stealth grow box I am working on, I finally settled on the size of the plastic storage box I wanted H75cm W45 L35, and I got my thermometer installed.

it has a sealed lid except for the middle that cracks apart a bit of duct tape will fix that though.

The plan is to have two DIY carbon filters (my activated carbon is on order :-P) and use some ona gel within the wardrobe and outside if need be, the 3 stage smell breakdown.

I will likely be growing with 3-4 CFL's straight tubes equaling 180-240watts.

I have no idea what I should cover its walls in to reflect heat id be open to suggestions.

Also id like to know what kind of plants do you think I could grow with that much height, I was thinking about growing some Ice as at the top end I am led to believe they reach 70cm.

please be kind its my first growbox.

i cant see how your going to control lighting with a transparent box?
that's easy enough going to wall the insides and possibly the outsides should it present a problem, going to need it for reflection regardless or im just wasting light.

this is my carbon filter exhaust I got built today, shes not a looker for certian but she seems to be working well enough, I used two plastic bottles and spent sometime meshing it, generally using the DIY carbon filter method from odour control.

a coat of white paint on the outside with a coat of black over it will give you whight showing inside to reflect and the black will block out light.............. think i would have gone with something els to make a grow box out of but hey good luck

Thanks for the tip on the paint, I like the idea of plastic as its very easy to seal up :) when your working on odour and environmental control I think it will pull through quite well in the end, I have a vision I will see it through hehe.

hmmm... you will now have light passing through the translucent plastic, to then be reflected back through the plastic... you would of been better off lining the box with your reflective material and then fitting your exhuasts maybe? just a thought mate. best of luck

Do like 3-4 coats of white paint on the inside and 3-4 coats of black on the outside. And ya you deffinately should have painted before installing your exhaust. Here is my clone box check it out. As you can see I havn't painted the outside black yet cause I have some clones in there rooting as we speak. After they root it will painted black. And why did you have to order acitvated carbon you don't have a walmart near by? Have you seen the diy carbon filter thread on here? You can make it out of pencil holders pantyhose and activated carbon all for 15 bucks at walmart. I have two of them for my intake socks on my grow tent.

Given the size of my lights I have had to semi abandon the box, the two lights simply would be touching the pot at their size, so ive spend the better part of the day converting my wardrobe, looks like my smell theory is out of the qeustion, but the box is being used, might have to start tearing out my carbon filters and applying them to the wardrobe or might be trying ona gel, could grow more under these conditions but it will be one plant at a time for now.

I have sowed my seed today and I will be starting a grow journal soon enough of my first grow, the strain is Ice.
