Ok I hear you man. They say the nutes Im using is for soil WITHOUT lime added so I figure I wont need calmag, Ill buy it anyway just to have.Ill go just about full strength this next time around.Im getting a 6 inch actually, its the one above. I read some posts sayingit doesnt work, but Im not going to worry and just buy it.

Ill probably harvest then start practicing hydro like you said, my gf is home when Im not so she has some studying to do. What type should I do, is your specialty hydroponics?
My ph meter (milwaukee600aq ) is out of calibration and I just got it only used it a few times, got to buy 7.0 solution now!

Thanks again dude
Oh yeah, forgot your soil has amendments, sorry about that. I wouldn't buy it unless you're for sure going to do hydro. In that case you would need it. For now you can hold off but if you start seeing rusty looking marks on your leaves order that stuff ASAP.

That 6 inch that your getting is even better, that should work fine.

The hydro is something I just experimented with and when I started wanted to go big so after a single soil plant jumped into it but only run it (for mj) during the winter due to the heat here and being too cheap to pay to keep the place at a reasonable temp. I mostly was doing Deep Water Culture (DWC) but have been getting into the flood and drain (Ebb and flow). DWC seems to grow bigger and faster than ebb and flow but ebb and flow seems to have less problems with fungus and root rot. The cool thing is that hydro is way, way easier and cheaper than most would think. The down side is you have to watch them everyday and be ready to immediately address issues because just as they grow fast, they also can die even faster if something goes wrong.

I'll find a few good videos that are complete or even make a few this weekend to kind of simplify building and using DWC or flood and drain. It's really easy and if heat is not an issues probably a good choice if you're ok with the taste of the buds. I like the earthy taste and hard buds that soil gives but I think running clones is way easier in hydro plus you get much more bud although it's more wispy.
Take care

Bro your girls look pretty good to me outside of a Lil lower Lear yellowing which isn't anything to get worried about they look real nice I was reading some of your post and reply you think you are having some pH issues? What I have found is that using lime is very important it does work very well..I'll be watching this keep it going...

Well FP gave you a lot of good advice I have never run DWC I am old school and a soil guy so if after this go around you go DWC then I will let others help. By the way as far as your ducting goes you should not have any problems by reducing it and running it like FP said you may need a better fan but that should be it. Keep us up to date on whats going on and all of us will do our best to help.

I am using green horticulture twisty tie to pull down the tops, the bottom leaves are getting greener and overall health seems better. I dont understand how the tips are very slightly burnt, maby introducing the nutes plus drip clean caused it. It should be alright, Ill have my 6" inline fan and scrubber within a week or so. I wanted to flip my main 5 or 6 plants into flowering, I think I have ALL female. 7 out of 11 are feminised though, I wanted to take some clones for my next grow cuz I was going to do a SCROG.

If anyone wanted to help me set up my next grows soil (not necessarily organic) thatd be cool.

Thanks for stopping by dude. I have a ph meter (milwaukee600aq )& ph liquid indicator to check ph of runoff\nutrient mix. I dont have any big issues right now, my next mix will have dolomite in it.

Have you ran organic before? I really dont like synthetic soil, ph is a grey area it seems. I just want a BADASS soil and use teas to feed. Ill run side by side next run, very excited for that.

coco and perlite, forget about hydro unless you just want to experiment.
cons of hydro
1. noisy pumps
2. root rot if water temps hi
3. harder to move plants around cuz of all the tubing
4. rootball blocking airstones in dwc causing water to go stagnant.
5. have to check reservoirs daily.

Coco grows just like hydro and in some cases is pretty similar but its easier to correct mistakes, no noisy pumps and tubing, no need to measure water temps or ph every day, list goes on and on

Thanks for taking the time to tell me that. I was looking into coco, I heard theres different coco as well., Ill research it some and set it up soon.

Do you have a journal?

Everything is looking good man! I would transplant those ones in the solo cups though and chop off that one really yellow and crusty bottom leaf, it's not coming back.

As for next-time with hydro tests, what are your temps inside your house during the hottest months of summer? If it's in the mid to low 70's you can probably get away without running a dedicated AC (or constantly using ice jugs in your reservoirs which sucks dealing with) with the ventilation you have for your tent.

The video stuff will have to be early in the week, busy working plus we have lots of rain today so I can't do anything. Anyway, last year I did a very small side by soil and hydro test and posted here. https://www.rollitup.org/t/hydro-vs-soil-tiny-clone-experiment-results.857596/ The thing is, IMO, buds look and taste way better in soil.

Its not the easiest for me to get weed at the moment to be honest. I was thinking about flipping 12/12 to start my 5 bigger plants in tent and move other plants under my 4 105Wcfl and few 26w. Ill have my inline fan\scrubber within a week, all I have for flowering to add on is top booster. Ill grab something else, I have some dynagrow coming as well. Any experience with BUD XL?

I want to flower these so I can start my (probably coco coir) grow after I did my first research on it I like the concept. Ill go half coco, half soil while I get a supersoil cooking for the 3rd grow. If you let it sit for like 4 months itll work better right?

KInd Sir I use nothing but supersoil have been using it for some time it works great but to make it takes a little work and a little bit of time but well worth it. As far as nutrients go I use Blue planet but with super soil you dont need feed for the first 30 or 35 days thats why I love the soil so much. If you make it make sure you dont cut corners just follow the recipe. COCO seems to be the thing now I dont use it but I may give it a try one day and see how things go like I said old school and I been doing this for a long time. By the way I never seen what strains you got growing please let us know what you got going and when you post a pic tell us what it is that will help as well. I did look at your last pics they are all looking good are you going to scrog any this go around you have talked about is that you plan for all them or just a few?

Cool I wanted to try supersoil organics or coco, Im not doing real hydro for awhile IMO. I am confused whether or not additives work with synthetic soil, so I want to say forget it all and do supersoil\Teas. Do my topped\LST plants look like theyre ready for SCROG?

I wanted to flip to 12\12 soon, I started the bigger ones on March 1st. I have trouble getting any bud where I live now, and cant have that!!! My 6"inline & Scrubber will be here within a week or so tops, I also have 600W Hortilux Eye special HPS bulb to flower with.

Ill take specific pictures tonight, my biggest plants are Topped \LST Afghani Kush (3), Critical Sensi Star (2), Strawberry Blue (1). Smaller plants are Pineapple Chunk, Blue Cheese, White Widow x Big Bud, and 1 more Arghani Kush I think. My last 3 plants I planted got mixed up which I didnt realize was a issue, I have Incredible Bulk, Great White Shark, and Kosher Kush left to germinate.

Im not sure what I should do, if I was to start flowering them this week do I give 24 hour dark period? I have House and Garden Top Booster which is "Fall in a bottle."

theres a good coco guide somewhere just google it thats how i found it. have had great results with coco from the very first time, not rocket science. just make sure you give it a full dose of calmag every watering, i learned how to use coco thru that guide alone, you should too.
idk if i can post the link here but google ask ed coco. good luck

I want to start flowering my plants are they ready? My one afghani is fem, my other has something coming out but clearly has a short white hair coming out but DOESNT look like my other females but doesnt look male idk. Lastly, my 3rd afghan has no preflower so I assume its fem huh? Its in a pot half the size of the others but still healthy, I have to water it almost everyday though. ******How do you get plants out of sturdy pots, I saw ppl using knives for example slid around the edge (obviously in a circle,) and turn upside as usual. Thoughts?
