My Gorilla seed story

I just thought I'd share my story.
I was one of the people who were lucky enough to win one of their contest giveaways and thought since they were sending me my winnings anyway that if they could include something else that I wanted but can't find here in the states, of course I was going to pay for what I wanted. Anyway to make a long story short they sent me my prize and what I wanted before they got my money. Then they got my money and sent me my order with a bunch of free beans to boot.
So I got my prize, plus what I wanted twice plus freebies, I couldn't be happier with these guys.
Good karma is coming there way

I've ordered from Sannie, Peak, James Bean, and a few other seed banks.
Not one of them held my hand like this one, I sent cash to the U.K.
Emails were responded to immediately, and tracking was precise for every location the package went through.
And the first 5 beans popped in 48 hours.
I highly recommend this distributor, who I see is already a sponsor here.
:peace:

Thanks for the review, I was just looking at the Gorilla website and this was really helpful. Thanks!
Had major issues w/Humboldt Chemdawg from Gorilla seed bank, prone to root disease.
Yet their honeysuckle freebies are doing well, which eliminates grower error.
I complained, they asked for my phone # 2 days ago and haven't bothered emailing back or calling.
This was the breeder:
https://www.humboldtseeds.net/
Their genetics were garbage.

Hi Sunbiz1 - First off, I'm glad your freebies are doing well. We try to give out quality gear for our free seeds.

Sorry no one's got back to you. We lost a couple people from our office staff, so they're short handed.

I've had good luck with Humbodlt's Blue Dream & Trainwreck, and I've found that some people do well with one seed and others don't, even if everyone is experienced. Me for one. Barney's Farm Vanilla Kush is supposed to be one of the easiest strains to grow. I've killed every single one I've gotten my hands on.

As you know, we don't breed the seeds. And, maybe you don't know this, but it's illegal in the UK for the office staff to even talk about growing with you.
It's considered "promoting illegal activity" by the UK government & they've used it as an excuse to raid grow shops & such.

Did you contact Humboldt about your problem?

Thank you for the response, I have not contacted them yet; decided to give it another shot.
Just sowed more CD, along with HSO OG kush freebies in the fancy inscribed wooden box.
Along with quite a few of a Bodhi strain I like, in case HSO fails again.
The honeysuckle is doing fantastic, leaves pointed to the heavens 3 weeks into flower.
That's why I was amazed when the CD simply stopped growing/died, when the others have done well under identical conditions.
With respect to British legislation regarding germination, your beans were sold/grown in a state which permits this under our laws.
But I do understand the dilemma.
Best Regards,
:)

I'm not a lawyer or legal expert by any means, but I wonder where the law would consider the seeds sold?
The money went to the UK, so I'm not sure who would take jurisdiction.

It's how all the UK seedbanks operate as far as I know.

(I live in the US by the way.)

Need to update this thread, as Gorilla has been overly kind to me.
For whatever reason, the chemdawg HSO beans I purchased back in August up and died a while back.
Yet their freebies grown side by side with the CD's did fine, and have been chopped.
This vendor of course, did not breed these seeds; and just shipped me a replacement.
So just wanted to state publicly:
Great job backing up your products!

Well, I am certainly glad some of you got your seeds from Gorilla, and they even acted like they cared. I have a feeling if you are ordering from the States, as I was, your experience will be totally different. Of the seeds they sent me, only about 25% germinated, that is out of three different strains! And no, I'm not a noobie, and I know how to germinate autoflowering seeds. They also sent only photoperiod freebies, from Barneys Farm of all breeders! And I only ordered autos. Why would you do that? I contacted them by email, and they told me basically to take a running leap at a flying truck for all they cared. They then used the old " these seeds are for collecting only" so, tough if they won't grow.
Don't order from these people, they don't back up their merchandise, and if you are overseas, they really don't care. It's that "So, sue me" attitude.

HI @PogoLives - I'm sorry you had that experience. Did you talk to me about your problem on this forum? I'm thinking not since I see you just signed up today.

According the the law in the UK, our customer service people have to say that, and they have no way of knowing whether you know what you're doing or not. There's a loophole in the law that allows us to legally sell seeds. It says something to the effect that it's legal to sell seeds, legal to possess seeds, but 100% illegal to grow weed. Crazy, right?

Also, we are resellers, not breeders, so if it's a quality problem, we generally refer you back to the original breeder. Some will replace the seeds as long as you can show proof of purchase. Others never respond to anything - not even to us.

So, it's kind of hard for us to replace things we have no control over. Like, if you go to Walmart, buy a flashlight, and it doesn't work, you can take it back. Walmart sends it back to the manufacturer, they get their cost back, they're mostly good. Not so for us. We're out our cost of the seeds plus the cost of the sale. Also, if a breeder replaces your seeds, it doesn't cost them much at all. If we replace them, it costs us a lot. I think people would be shocked if they saw how little a seedbank (not the breeder) makes on a pack of seeds once all the costs are factored in.

I think you'll also find that no other seedbank, in the UK anyway, guarantees germination. Maybe if new US banks start to do that, they'll have to change their tune - but then again, there's that pesky law.

As far as freebies go, we usually just have one set at a time to give out. Sometimes they're a mix. Sometimes they're all Autos. And, sometimes they're all photo. It just depends on what we have available at the time for promotional purposes. They show up when you start adding things to your basket so you know what you're ordering.

Finally, the company cares about the US customers just as much as those in the UK or any other country. @Sunbiz1 lives in the US if I remember correctly. People in the UK would get the same boilerplate, CYA answer. We don't want anyone to go away unhappy with how they were treated or how their products worked out.

If you'd like me to review your order & see if there's anything I can do for you, please PM me your order number.

I accept what you said. However, my statement stands as the fact it is. I can't and will not recommend you, or anyone with customer service like that. I don't have to. No one else does either. Thanks for the reply though, some people will accept it.

I was just explaining the reasoning behind what happens and offering to see if I could help you out after the fact. That offer still stands.

I don't think I asked you to recommend us - sorry if I came across as being push. I probably over-explain a little too often.

I hope that you eventually sourced some seeds you were happy with. Good growing!

I miss doing business with Gorilla. Maybe now that Seedsman has cut back on their bitcoin bundle freebies, it might be worth recalculating the average cost of identical seeds after factoring in the freebies. And for the record, they sent me some freebies of Pineapple Chunk that came from ADVANCED FEMALE SEEDS which used to link directly to Rhino or Gorilla when you clicked the buy now link. My personal experience is that it was better than Barney's farm if wishing you had stopped at one hit rather than taking 3 is any indication.
