I have a few questions about my first harvest, hopefully you guys can answer them.

My grow was done via cfl, with bagseed, in miracle-gro with 3 month nutrients (used buds for less book).

Okay so 4 days ago i chopped my plant. I manicured it, and hung it to dry in the dark with a fan blowing on it at all times. Yestrday I check on it (i had left for the weekend) and they seemed dry. (stem was almost unable to bend withoput snapping). due to the end of summer my building is very hot, which i think added to the quick dry.

Now Yesterday I put tghe buds in jars to cure, but here is my question.
I opened the jars today (after 12 hours) and there was no moisture whatsoever. Did my buds dry too fast?
Also, my bud doesn't smell like normal bud does. I'm assuming its because of the miracle gro. Anything i can do for that as well? I heard a longer cure?
Does any of this sound normal? Please help me out here, its my first harvest ever.

Thanks guys.

4 days is not unheard off, but does seem fast. Was your humidity at like 0? The smell could be due to the strain or where you hung it. I would just leave it in the jars now and open them daily to release any moisture

wow,but all is not lost, add a orange peel to the jar and close it for 8 hours,it should add moisture back into the mj,after that, burp every day for 30 minutes-easy as that,p.s dont forget to NOT smoke it for 1 month until its cured completely

Before throwing wet paper towels and pieces of fruit in your bud.....Burp it for a while, test as little as possible (none) for at least two or three weeks. This will probably help most of your issue. The last few buds out of a jar are the sweetest. If you wait, they can all taste like that.

Well first off, never put a fan blowing directly on them. I did this very same thing my first harvest and it just evaporates the moisture from the bud waaay too fast. You do not want to suck all the moisture out of the bud before curing. You want to take the first 3-4 days (or more depending on the size of individual buds) to evaporate the majority of moisture. The outsides of the bud should be dry to the touch but the inner bud / stems should still hold some moisture, stem should not snap but bend only. Thats a good time to start your cure. The buds should re-moisten a little and have that "dank" feel!

Also about the miracle grow; I used it for my first and recent harvest. When dried / flushed / cured properly you can't even tell. But the first harvest I dried too fast they tasted pretty bad but it got me high so eh...YOu'll figure it out bro, trial and error :)

well i burped it and it was dry so ive been using the orange peel method the last few days. I orginally had alkl my bud in 6 jars but now ive condensed them to 3. I think this will help.
Also, I can definitely say that the smell is starting to change for the good. I'm just gonna wait it out 2-3 weeks and see how it goes.
Right now i'm burping at least once a day. Its been almost a week.
After a week I plan to burp it every couple days, then once a week till its ready.

u let them dry out too much... yup thats it.. when the branches r hangin to dry, u must wait until the OUTSIDE of the bud is slightly crispy, but the stem WILL NOT break, it'll bend n fold, n twist, but never break.. u said urs was so bone dry that it would snap... thats too much... u dont want ur stem to b dry when u r curing.. otherwise, curing is completely unnecessary..

That orange peel biz has been around for at least half a century . . . most have replaced the peel w/pieces of stem, or fresh fan leave(s).
IMO, filling the jars more will help.
WATCH OUT FOR MOLD.

Anyways. My harvest has been curing for 5 days now. I added the orange peels to see if they would help, which I think they did. I condensed 6 jars of herb down to 3 and have been burping once a day and it is definitely smelling better and better daily. Looks really nice too.
When I weighed it today it said I got 118gs off this one plant... Damn

yea fresh fans leaves i heard actually is one of the only useful methods of moisturizing
what? .. BS.. Wet wadded up pieces of toilet paper work even better than fan leaves so iunno wtf ur talking about lol.. "only useful method".. PPPFFFFFTTT
before you go off and publicly announce your illiteracy, why don't you go ahead and read the bold underlined fragment of my sentence... i myself have never actually fucked curing up before, therefor i don't know many ways to increase moisture, it was actually someone with over a thousand posts who had mentioned it, and my fault for taking it seriously.. douche:wall:
