My first good harvest... Time for the final flush?

Enlighten us as to what it is exactly that you accomplish by depriving your plant of nutes in a time of need in its life cycle
I've already gone to the plate against this buttmunch on flush.....Another one with all the faith in the old hippies myth books and the old hippie followers who wrote their own myth books after them.....

He just can't seem to understand that another "old hippie" who has been "blinded by the real science" is giving the real truth!

Ive never flushed before harvest... Only time i have ever flushed a plant was if i overfed or something. Weather this makes me a fool... Idk. But ive grown some dank buds and some shitty buds, and im not sure how flushing a plant really will make it better.

Before you flush, do some research. Water is a precious resource.

Only explanation I have seen is that the regular water will give your plant the autumn look (a nutrient deficiency) before harvest that it is required(I guess) to have. and that it makes your smoke smoother and taste better lol. The people who say to flush don't know or (I guess) dont say this they just say "the book says it so do it". Which book? Like Dr. Who said "Not all books say this"! I guess it cleanses the buds, that are grown already, of all nutrients it already has in it. Idk how, but they say it does. So can you flush fruits and vegetables of all their nutrients before harvest too? What about the nutrients in the water? How you get them out? "I want to remove the mg it tastes so bad and makes me choke". Smh.

Those books say alot of things... I was told that my yard dirt wont work... And yet i have 8 healthy seedlings (and one sickly dying one)

Maybe it does make it smoother and taste better... Idk... Only one way to find out.

I say 3-4 weeks and don't listen to these ppl telling you not to flush they like to confuse new growers and watching them fail. Read any grow book and all will tell you to flush.
I strongly disagree. I recommend everyone reads into this and decide for themselves. Ed, Jorge, and Soma are very clever, and brough grow knowledge to the public, but new info has come to light. After reading into both sides of the argument, I no longer flush. Sometimes I do just for the color change, but it is a symptom of a nutrient deficient plant, and I do it strictly for esthetic reasons.

That thing is foxtailing/bolting and throwing new hairs so you really need to get down to the trichomes. Get you phone in there close enough so it can still focus , good ambient light , no flash and you'll be surprised of how well you can see the trichs.

Nutrients are not accumulated in the plant. Only in the root zone. The idea that salts can somehow be purged put of your plant is just plain wrong. By the time nutes have made it above the soil line, they have already been converted into the building blocks of a plants life. You can't flush these molecules out any more than you can flush out your own muscle tissue by drinking water.

Natural leaching of leaves tells you its okay, if not and I'm not a flusher , but I would probally flush but we all grow differently , but I sure as he'll can tell chemical taste to organic easy.

Did u know water is a chemical? Tell me how does that taste as you drink it?

Difference between organic ferts and synthetic ferts is the timing of availability. A synthetic fertilizer comes in a form that is immediately available to your plant.

Organic on the other hand first needs to be broken down into a usable form by your plant.

So in the end wether organic or synthetic, they both get absorbed once it's in an available form.

True roots due absorbe whether broking down my micro-orgisims or a synthetic broken down form , I was just stating a plant fed regardless how , should be leach out if not allowed naturally then I agree flushing is needed.

i was gonna say this but a little different lol. Did you know water is a essential nutrient needed for all living things to survive that has chemicals in it. In most states alot of chemicals too. So have fun flushing all those chemicals.

Let me state some obvious to how fun , makes sense since most living matter regardless , human , plant , turd mostly consist of water.

And pocket lint contains mostly fecal matter. . Yum

not most but all living things sir. i stated the fact that your water has chemicals in it. you said you can taste the difference. Easy. Now can you explain the difference in taste between chemical and organic?

I have enjoyed your science threads . Have you considered cutting off half of your roots to save water ? You know to see if they really need all those extra roots ?

Nope the plants will be stressed the fuck out enough as it is. Something cool did happen today though, i topped one of the seedlings WAY earlier than i should have, and not only does it still look healthy but the new branches are beginning to develop. After i see how it responds i may try it again. Since i know the lights aren't really ideal and they wont get large, topping may be necessary to ensure they dont die. I also moved 2 of them outside. One seems unchanged the other is slumped over already. Despite the hate im getting its intresting to see first hand how plants respond to poor conditions, rather than just doing what people tell me.

All admit that most if not all of my plants will die, but ill pick up some knowledge.

If more than one makes it to harvest i might flush one and not the other to see how the flush effects it.

Anyway seems like the consensus is that a final flush is a waste of water huh?
