ready to transplant from my bucket cloner to my DWC bucket the question is do I use a rock wool cube surrounded by the hydroton or just put the clone right in the hydroton? Thanks!

If its already in rockwool than plant it directly in the hydroton. If not than you can put clone in hydroton.

Im assuming its not in rockwool so just layer the bottom of net pot with hydroton (just 1 layer) and place clone or seedling on top of hydroton and surround. Do it slow and gently to not damage roots. Bring water level so bubbles are popping on bottom of net pot. Approx 1" below and your good to go. Within a few days you will see roots making way to the water.

Go easy on the nutes! .3-.5 EC until you see good growth. Take a week to adjust and start growing like crazy.

I made my own bucket cloner so the clones are just in plugs not rockwool cubes. Normally I use 20ml grow thinking 5 will do it thanks ;)

No rockwool. RW is for starting from seed or for cloning.

Since you aero cloned you don't need to mess around with that. For the best anyways as there are lots of swings with EC and PH with RW is wet vs when it dries out.

Just carefully place the clone in your net pot so the roots are hanging into the water then fill the pot with hydroton or whatever media you use.

is there any rush?, why don't you wait abit, get longers roots then feed them threw the bottom of dwc net pot leaving the bottom of the stem touching the bottom and surround with hydroton

Yeah wait on the transplant for sure. You would probably put them in shock. Let the roots grow more then transplant. I dont weave roots through net pot just lay them on top of a layer of hydroton and they will go where they want to. Also rinse your hydroton really good and soak them in PHed solution that you used to clone them with.

I like to have a nice rootball and new growth (2 sets of true leaves) before I move to netpot. That way you begin first week of veg in the bucket and dont have to change rez for a week or 2.

thanks guys, no rush.... I threw it in there though :P looks so nice if it shocks no big deal this is just an experiment if it works out sweet :) I need to figure out how to create a recirculating system with master rez :D :D

so do I want that newly formed rootzone all the way down at the bottom just one layer of hydroton
Hey antimatter....

I will share what I do.....You are set up alot like what I am doing..........I have a bucket cloner with foam plugs....I wait until I have a nice root ball about 10/12 inches long....If they are happy it doesn't take much longer from looking at your photo's.......

Then I just rap the roots around on the bottom of the net pot and gently pour the hydroton in the baskets useing my hands as a shield to not damage the fragile roots.......I will post a pic of some clones I transferred awhile back..The pic of the clones in the clone bucket were fresh cuttings......The clones from the clone bucket were about three weeks old.... This pic of the roots was about three days worth of grow after transfer..................nitro..

take a look at my system built it 100% myself its really easy and doesnt cost much couple hundred bucks but if you grow well you'll more than make your money back i usually pull around 4-8 oz per plant depending on strain and size of plant..I try to keep them under 4ft tall
