Found another email from my friend which you might find useful see below

"about polymer, yes it can keep the nutrient solution or elements in substrate layers because it can absorb too much water abot 300 to 400 times.it can also stabilize PH in substrate.I am using SAP or pottasium acrylate for substrate.currently I am mixing this polymer with chitosan olygomer to improve our plants.chiitosan oligomer is much stronger than pure chitosan and increase the immune system of plant. it can also increase the germination rate and contribute to developing of roots in substrate.before I used anionic polyacrylamid for our plants but anionic polyacrylamid had been made by sodium so sodium is not good in too much rate for tha plants but pottasium polyacrylate is good because it has been made by pottasium in base.SAP and chitosan oilgomer are copolymer.so I am using two copolymers in my substrate that can improve our quality of plants.SAP has a long shelf life about 5 years and biodegradable."

I orderedx some aloe flakes
I really was looking for some too !
Ya wanna try that rockdust pm me
The site with the aloe flakes also has coconut water powder and ag sil at good prices, along wit fulvic and humatic acid products. I am rethinking the rice hulls but I have always wanted to try them because of their ability to slowly release silica to the plants.

@Johnnycannaseed1, thank you for the info. I saw a paper on chitosan a few years back that started my interest. The main point being it triggers an immune response (heavy resin) in our plants while bolstering health and not stressing the plants. The paper also hit on the use of chitosan with seed germination as well. Although the chitosan we use comes from shrimp and crabs it is the same as what makes up insect exoskeletons and insect fras, at least to my level of understanding... :)

Switched the timer to 12/12 so tonight will start the count or tomorrow after a 12 hour dark cycle... :) I will fire up the far reds in two weeks from now and the bump to 13.5/10.5 for four weeks then back to 12/12 for the last two weeks. I will also be dimming the light down from full the last week or two as well... :)

Looking Groovy Brother. The Pic Loader Must Been Acting Up Cause The Only Pics I Saw Was On The 1st Page. My Bad :weed:
No problem, RUI has had a ghost in the machine for a minute now... :) The clones on this run are jammin form everything that went down since they were first cut. The power company made the decision to replace power poles on a holiday weekend which didn't play out and a delay on a couple parts kept them in the cloner a week longer so all in all I would have to say it a major success so far... Lol :)

I think I drink as much or more of that coconut water from powder then the plants and I've used it last couple weeks and while the flush is going on with good results... :) Nothing scientific just the vibe you get when something is going right...

First week of 12/12 down starting week two tonight. These girls are growing well now and soaking up the cal mag. I'm only feeding 1.1 - 1.2 ec with the cal mag added and the one unhappy pheno is still not happy yet, clawing leaves. I think KB5 (pheno) wants just ro water and a little cal mag but she may start coming around. The others are growing well and looking good.... :)

Thanks for stopping in BuddyColas! This run is all girls parts. I vegged the moms of these girls till they showed sex and had alternating nodes. So when cloned the girls were about ten weeks old, mature and ready to show me what they have going on. The first pic is some girl parts from the tent this morning. The second is a question I have, has anyone ever seen leaves like this? Three leaflets with the middle being ultra wide. All the Kush Berry have three leaflets like this, the Hashberry five and seven leaflets. I know the genetics are from Canada so maybe it's just national pride.... ;)

So the pic on the right, is that the clone? Did mama look the same? Also, you mentioned that you are running 1.1-1.2 EC. Not bad. I have went entire runs (with very productive results) and never went above 1.2 of basic nutes less adds. I saw some of Heath Robinson's trees and he never went above 1.2, so I gave it a try. Often less is more.

Man how are you cloning? I failed recently with clonex. I think I scraped too much off the stem when I did lt.

Well all the seed plants had normal 5 and 7 leaflets but thick and wide. The three leaflet clones have one very thick leaflet and two smaller ones which make for great light penetration unlike the thick mass of branches, tight nodes and leaves of the Hashberry. There are a ton of nodes and still the three leaflets so I don't see them growing out of it. I'm a big believer in that less is more, I'm cutting back a little more till I see the ec of the runoff drop a bit... :)

just did my Romulian mommy , rockwool , cheapo ass root powedr , distilled water
i just put a line/rail worth on the rockwool cube that was prewashed in D/W
push the cutting thru the power all 4 i did 4 days ago got roots on 3 already
the trick is Not cutting the cut smash the stem with yer finger nail & then rough up the side above the cut
with finger nail & then stick in the powder /rockwool
this will work in pure coco IF you chabge the water daily
