So surprisingly i got into a marijuana debate/talk with my family dr and bam he asks me if i want to be referred to a marijuana clinic.
Im not sure what that means yet or if im one step closer to freedom but heres hoping.

Has anybody heard of a company called well medica? Or can i use this form for any of the large lps?

That's awesome that your doctor is on board!

You can get them to write you a prescription and refer you to a compassion club then? There's probably a few in Toronto to choose from and you could get your meds right there.

I just did a quick google search and came up with http://wellmedica.ca/. Seems like they offer "medical marijuana therapy". My guess is your doc is too scared or bullied by the college of physicians to sign so he's sending you to someone who will. At least you are moving in the right direction.

Ya thats kind of what i thought too.
He said he doesnt know amounts or anything and im the first person he has ever referred.
I call bullshit but im very intrigued to call tomorrow.

I haven't understood why Canadian doctors are more hesitated then American doctors to recommend MM ? Is there less of them or is it harder to be licensed to practice medicine in Canada ? Maybe its easier to lose that medical license is Canada ? (i know my drivers license would had been gone in Ontaria by now, ha ha)

I too had to go to a MM clinic to be certified here in Michigan but there is many clinics in the state and the first place I went to helped me out--with no medical records at the time. I never asked my primary doctor cause he never asked me if I use weed in the 20 some years I knew him, so I didn't bother him and went straight to a local clinic.

I believe only like 40,000 Canadians have been approved for MM--here in Michigan its around 130,000 and thats just in the state of Michigan.

Good luck, MM can help many people, far more then are now legally able to use MM

You are mistaken on the numbers...40,000 Canadians have the right to grow their own medicine. The actual number of patients is much higher. They estimate something like 400,000 in 10 years although I'm not sure how they expect this to happen when doctors are intimidated into not signing.

and patients are intimidated into not even asking their doctors about it. The governments done a real fine job at that.

Our physicians college has threatened to pull doc licenses. The government doesn't like or support mj, they remind us all the fucking time that the only reason we are allowed to use MJ is because the courts have ordered them to provide access to patients.

Doesnt a doctors note/diagnosis cut it for a LP?
If only that were the case, I too just last week had an appointment with a dr for a script. Long story short, there was a rep from Tilray at the Dr office, the prescription pad was from Tilray and so you'd think it'd have all gone smoothly....Nope...Turns out Tilray won't accept the document because my Dr filled it out with 6 and 4 instead of 647 and 416. I also sent my copies of the script to 2 Toronto CC's and have yet to hear back from anyone. I have an actual script and can't seem to use it.

Hopefully this Well Medica place works out for you Torontoke, make sure they fill forms out properly !!!

I don't think there are 40,000 allowed to grow Chris.

Well well well isn't this interesting. A Tilray rep at the doctor's office. No conflict of interest here. What does the Tilray rep do when you state that you are going to go with a competitor?...wowsa, they are ballsy!!!

I too found it quite interesting, the reasons I was told was that before my Dr started to write scripts she (or more likely the receptionist) reached out to a few LP's and Tilray was the only one to get back to them. However when I was sitting with the Dr I asked her if I HAD to use Tilray, she said she didn't give a shit which LP it was but for the first time we'd use Tilray cause they had a "easy to fill out" prescription pad. HAH, what a joke.

You know, after looking for a dr to sign papers for a long time, its hard to just walk away when the opportunity finally arises.
