My DIY Drying Box

Every day is precious in the flower tent so I decided it was time to get rid of using it for drying. Tis the Amazon season so I converted this big cardboard box. I got a 4" duct fan, cut some holes in the bottom, and put a small fan inside that is blowing against a box so providing some indirect airflow.

I attached an old carbon filter but it wasn't keeping up so I went ahead and just got it venting into my flower tent. Once this batch is dry I will attach a proper filter for next grow. Though I kind of like this exhaust into the tent thing. Since everything in the tent just flipped 12-12, I don't think a little light leak for a couple days will hurt.

I love it! Cardboard is very under-rated as a suitable material for this. I made one a few years ago out of a cardboard box. I ducted the exhaust from my 1,000 w HPS light into the bottom and cut a hole in the top for the air exit. I had 3 layers and left a 2" gap in the ends so the air had to ziz-zag over each layer to get out. Worked great.

Cardboard/paper is definitely underrated for drying, in fact you might not even need the ventilation to keep the humidity low. Cardboard does a great job of that on it's own, like a wick.

It does cardboard, I don't hang my to dry because of lack of space. So I dry my in a Cardboard box. It still comes out perfect long as if the room temperature 72-74F and Humidity around 40%, Rotate buds every 12 hours to avoid mold. Not much ventilation just keep the box open in a cool dark place. Usually 4-7 Days, Until stem snaps then Cure it for a minimum of one week. But love your box that's good engineering.
