My 2nd Grow: 4x4 tent in garage, 7 seeds of Skunk

Disclaimer: This is my first grow and I'm learning as I grow! I hope someone enjoys this as much as I did.. still got about another month or so depending on how things go and I'm very aware of how my temps are dropping to about 55 degrees being in the garage that seems to be slowing growth. Nothing I can do on the cheap quick side of things. Well besides maybe getting a oil heater to toss in the tent. We'll see how I tackle this problem maybe this week or next grow.

Day 1 from seed 12/5/15 10:00am The Beginning

Left in 3 shot glasses separated for 1 hour. Then put in Rapid Rooters under a 600 watt MH bulb dimmed to %50 on a 24 hour schedule that is vented out the top my tent and a mini desk fan pushing air into my Hydrofarm dome that has 1/4 water in tray on a heat mat.(no temp gauge on the heat mat :cry:

)

Day 4 from seed 12/8/15 2:00am Opps #1

Added wrong nutes! Drained from tray and added Fox Farm Big Bloom half str. = 1.5 tps. to 1 gal tap water. (sat out 24 hours to let off chlorine.

Day 5 from seed 12/9/15 4:48pm More Sprouts!

I also overwatered a tad too much into the tray! Dumped all water out to let rooters dry out some. Temps hits highs of 84* degrees.

Day 6 from seed 12/10/15 6:00pm Update

Added water to tray 1/4 full after drying out the rooters too much LOL. Spoiler: Pulled top left Anesthesia on 12/15 after she wasn't able to turn over in the rooter. Then every few hours I added a nice misting to the dome when I can and I'm home.

Day 7 from seed 12/11/15 11:00 pm Update

Taking dome off when working around the room to give it some more air and blow the fan some on them stems.

Day 8 from seed 12/12/15 1:00 am Roots!

Ended up transplanting later in the day at 5pm into 1 gal. Smart Pots with soil %50/%50 of Fox Farm Ocean Forest and Fox Farm Happy Frog (9 cups of each soil with 1 cup of perlite per 1 gal. Smart pot). I then added a dash of this

to the bottom of the pots. Ran out of 1 gallons and put 2 remaining plants into red solo cups LOL...Opps #2 :wall:

Day 9 from seed 12/13/15 5:00 pm Moved light

Moved light up to 18 inchs vs having it where I would feel the heat on back of hand trick. Turned bulb up to %100 from %50 to give the plants time to get accustomed to soil

Day 10 from seed 12/14/15 5:00 pm Watered finally!

Left my 8th plant in tray that later I pull due to not flipping over in the Rapid Rooter.

Used 3 tsp. per 1 gal of Fox Farm Big Bloom. 6.0 ph water added nutes. Then 6.5 run off entire grow.

Day 15 from seed 12/19/15 10:00 pm HEAT!

Tips of plants are curling upwards but not too bad. Has to with the room fan I added into the grow pointed directly on the plants. That was a bad idea! Tilted the fan up to the light to still move air in the room and on the plants and turned up my vent system to pull some more heat out the room.

Day 16 from seed 12/20/15 10:00 pm Watered part 1 - Power Problems!

Had 10% run off. Had to turn fan down to help keep heat in tent to between medium/high. Then the power issue ....My wife drives a Nissan Leaf and in order to use the same outlet I dimmed my light to %50 to at least continue my 24 hour light schedule for autos for 6-8 hours.

Day 17 from seed 12/21/15 10:00 pm Watered part 2

Watered remaining plants that needed it and dimmed light again to let wife charge car. They are taking 2 gallons of water for 6 x 1 gal. Smart Pots and 2 solos.

Day 19 from seed 12/23/15 1:00 am SOLO ROOTS! OH CRAP! Transplant and full photos! Enjoy

Oh no! Roots somewhat coming out cuts on bottom of cups! Time to transplant! Perfect timing as I watered 2 days ago and they are ready!

Watered full str. nutes 3 tsp. per gal. 2 gallons total and not feeding nutes to newly transplanted 2 from solo cups.

6 tsp. of Big Bloom and 2 tsp. of Grow big. 2nd gallon had to be straight from tap without evaprating the chroline.

Day 26 from seed 12/30/15 5:30 pm 5 Gallon Transplant & Later dude!

Even though my photos are above this is after looking at the nodes and knowing it was male. Left his butt outside to die in the cold!!!! MUAHAHAHAH! :fire:

....too much? Could of saved him and gave him to my brother in law but meh ...this is my learning experience right?

During this time I rushed one of the 2 Fast 2 Vast and messed up some of the roots as the soil was still somewhat wet! Blahhhhh! I left the remaining 2 till tomorrow. I also watered every 5 gallon with 1 gallon tap water and no nutes.

Put my final plants into a super soil called Recipe 420 that I got for $20 from local store. All 3 "2Fast2Vast" are in super soil.

Day 28 from seed 1/1/16 1:00 am HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! bongsmilie

Switched light onto a timer 18/6 for the new year! Turns off at 9:00 am and back on by 3:00 pm.

Day 35 from seed 1/8/16 8:30 am Bulb Swap in the dark!

Quickly tried to swap out the MH to an HPS bulb before going to work ...bad idea in the darkness. I took the wrong side of the tubing off and had to redo it all in the dark.

Ana is sitting at 20 inchs 32 days from sprout with my Skunk 2 in the back just barely a few centimeters shorter.

Stay tuned in and enjoy the ride with me! I have to check later today how the RH is doing, how to measure PPM this upcoming week and combat it thus allowing me to use my tap water and dealing with the low tent temps.

Will want to save this for my next grow. Seems like I've been doing 4 times more then what this guy is using. Makes me worried what I'm in for in the up coming weeks.

So if you would like to super charge your autos this is what I do. But remember that this is my feed schedule to my conditions as well as soil amendments. SO if you know you have a hot soil ease up on the mix to make sure you dont burn and if your soil is plain compo you can get a little brave but less is more here.

The back of most of the FF bottles say 2teaspoons for regular feed and 3 for heavy feeding. I never use the 3teaspoon regimen. 2tsp is ideal for a 1/4 part break down.

Week
1 pH water only

1.5 add in Big Bloom to the mix at 1/2 tea spoon

2 1/2tsp Grow Big 1/2 tsp Big Bloom

2.5 3/4 tsp of grow big

3 1tsp grow big and 1/2 Tiger bloom 1/2 tea spoon Big Bloom

3.5 1/2 tsp Grow Big 1/2tsp Tiger bloom

4 1tsp Tiger bloom 1/2 tsp Grow Big

4.5 Clean pH'ed water to clear out salt build up

5 2tsp tiger bloom 1/2 grow big

5.5 1 Teaspoon Grow Big

6 Begin Flush for the final weeks. At this point i can flush for a week before i begin to see yellowing of the fans.

I like to leave enough time to get all the salts out of there before the harvest. This stuff WILL salt up on you and cause build up and lock out.

Hope this helps some of you out there and remember this may vary to your application. This is just MY feed schedule.

Day 36 from seed 1/9/16 11:00 pm Watered 2 and UPGRADES!

Lighting on my camera is so wonky... Found out if I cover the lens with my hand then take a picture of the plant it will come out in somewhat normal light... Kinda. You be the judge

New Tray water catching system. Fits 2 gal. plants at a time. Wonder if I can split a tray and seal it off from each side to better test PH and prevent other pots from getting extra moist. Either way I don't let much run off happen to really matter as I water extremely slow and try to let the soil soak it all up. Ran 2 gallons with nutes for Skunk 2 & 3 (middle and top right of picture)

Used 2 tsp. per gal. on both Tiger Bloom & Grow Big and 3 tsp. per gal. on Big Bloom.

Some LSTing....kinda messed up and bent it too much on Skunk 3 ... Skunk 2 was done much better.

Ended up watering Skunk 2 and 3 top middle and the top right. I have updates that show slight nute burn to Skunk 2 and what the fan leaves are doing .... :shock:

Thanks Rich, I'm just worried the cold is messing with the growth too much.

Noticed last night with the RH being around %55 there was moisture on the walls near the smart pots.

As a side not you have also sparked my need to use my wifes fancy camera to take updated photos.

Day 38 from seed 1/11/16 1:00 am Heat and RH Issues solved....somewhat

Bought a $18 ceramic heater

from Wal-Mart and have it sitting out side the tent blowing at the vent. I put the temperature gauge on the inside near the plants on top the milk crates they are on.....temps hit 118 degrees!

I then decided that the heater needs to be moved back away from the tent some and I needed something to help protect the smart pots from being dried out. I added the other boot tray I had just got 3 of from home depot and that is now moving the heat under the milk crates across the tent warming my roots :lol:

or I would hope it does.

To help combat my tents new found cold fix and help keep the RH down I got my vent system sucking out the heat and my fan left inside to continue moving air around the room. Guess we will need betwee the hours of 3ish am to 8 am how my temps do and the RH. I'll check before going to work.

Temps currently: 78 degrees with RH at a nice 45%
