My 1sy Cfl closet/cabinet grow

This is my first grow, I'm using a 100w cfl bulb 6500K with 1600 lumens and another 6500K cfl weather-proof bulb and it is 75w with 800 lumens. the soil that I am using is miracle gro moisture control. I have them under 18 hours of light and 6 hours of darkness and I have an oscillating fan that is constantly blowing on them. for right now I am currently growing inside of my closet and inside of my closet is a cabinet that was given to me. I transplanted my oldest plant 2 days ago and is beginning to show signs of what I believed to be heat stress but I am NOT 100% sure on that. I do not know the temperature and/or the humidity because I do not own a thermometer nor a hygrometer.

Your doing a few things wrong man..

First you dont have enough lights for all those plants. Very insuffient lighting. I use 650w of CFLs and only run 3 plants at a time, 4 MAX.

Second your using miracle grow soil

I know about the lighting I am on a budget if you will. I am using what I have and yes I want to try a soiless mix next time and add my own nutrients. there are only so many because I know some will be maleand probably not very many females so that is the reason for this many plants. here is an update photo by the way. and yes I am well aware of the nitrogen toxicity on a couple of the plants I have stopped giving it nutrients. I water them with containers of water that I have left out for a day or two

i know, growing on a budget is okay, and growing with CFLs can workout fine. But you have to know your limits. Growing that many plants with your lighting just isnt going to work out. U really should of only grown 1 or 2 max, until u get better lighting. Just trying to help brother, not put down.

if your on a budget, and you want to rock your grow cab/box, i started out with cfl's and quickly moved to this light, it puts out over 7000 lumens on a 180 watt draw at the wall socket, its the marshydro 300 watt light, they are now discounted to $67 dollars, take a look http://www.ebay.com/itm/MarsHydro-300W-LED-Grow-Light-UL-listed-Cord-Lamp-For-Medical-Plant-Veg-Flower-/151374521551?hash=item233e9fe4cf thats with free shipping, you can spend over 67 in cfl's in a big hurry especailly considering sockets and power strips, that light will cover a 3x2 area and all your plants, hope this helps, take a look at my wardrobe grow box build and the mar led light over here https://www.rollitup.org/t/one-more-time-around-for-the-old-man-in-the-wardrobe-grow.857122/
here is my latest grow, got some teens saturday and put the scrog screen over them yesterday https://www.rollitup.org/t/the-foxs-second-led-grow-under-cxa3070.878562/

My buddie just got done with his grow he had sour d and he used CFLs but 100 to 300 watt ones n his shit look awesome n smelled n smoke great n was real smooth n the buds were big n fat so CFLs are cheap n cheap on the electric bill I do like the HP's I got a 400 watt but I ran it for like 2weeks n my bill went up to 180$ with CFLs its $55

Okay, now I know I have way too many plants in my little area. I have 5 but want to drop it down to 3.

At the (very minimum), how many 100w cfl bulbs should be focused directly above a single plant?

Am I better off focusing on the larger plants and discarding any of my slowly growing crops?

Yea keep the bigger healthier ones but if u want I had to many at one time so I put them up in the woods to see if I get anything from them instead of throwing them out I have 6 now on 12 100watt CFLs n one 2x2 t5 ho if u put one on the top of plant n 2 on the sides that would work n just spin them once each day that's what I do but iv only been doing this since April begging of may but u can get a few 300 watt CFLs so u don't got 12 like me n go with like 4-5 of the 300w n see how that works

I don't have any 300 watts yet but they sell them for $15 each at Lowes but it would only take maybe 4 on top n a few 100 watt ones on the sides I got two diff kinds warm n soft white not sure ones more yellow n some are white blue but seem to work nice but I have a 400 watt hps but it ran my bill up like crazy but I like it

I live in a desert area, it's way to hot for them lol.
Are you using both 27k & 65k lights to try to replicate sunlight?
where did you get the 300 watt bulbs and are they pricey? I'm pretty low budget hahaha
How hot it get there? Its been 100 plus here with very high humidity. They can take some heat.

You should shoot for at least 100 actual watts for the first plant and 50 for each one after. That is at a minimum. So aim for 4-6 bulbs for the first and 2-4 for each plant after. If you can try for at least four bulbs a plant.

Everyone bashes miracle grow. I don't use it because I'm organic. Other than that, mj will grow just fine in it. Most have problems with it because it contains time release ferts and can burn seedlings easy. Moisture control is one of their better products and is easier to use, even with nute sensitive auto flowers. The key to miracle grow is to keep it on the dry side as not to release to much fertilizer at one time.
