What's Up Rollitup and Fellow Cannabis Connoisseurs! :joint:

I'm 34days into my current grow, and I'd like to pick my journal up right here.
I've done a lot of learning via a committee of books, trolling the net, and visiting other forums prior to posting here, and let me start by saying that the CFL Camp here at Rollitup are setting the standard! For CFLs at least.

I'll throw some pics together here tomorrow as it will be 5 weeks since planted, and we'll go from there.
All the necessary info regarding this project is detailed below.
Everyone here is welcomed to comment as they please, as long as everything is irie :leaf:

I'm Growing

-(x1) Nirvana Seeds Autoflowering Bubblelicious
-(x1) Seeds Man Seeds Feminized White Widow
-(x1) Dinafem Seeds Feminized Blue Widow
*courtesy of Attitude Seedbank stealth shipping. Took about 9 days to southeastern US.
Lighting

-Lots of CFLs(20+ between 3 plants currently).
Mainly 23w(100w equivalent CFLs with exception of x2 105w 2700k CFLs)
I have 18-23w CFLs that are 2700k, 3500k, 5000k, and 6500k.
The logic is to provide a full spectrum of light.
So far, the heat produced by the lighting of over 20 CFLs has been effectively managed by 1 Little Blizzard oscillating fan at plant/light level.

Grow Space

- My closet. I'm just using the back of it. Dimensions may be 8x6x8 approx.

Air quality
- I vent air in out and of the closet by opening it and I have a bag of Exhale C02 to supplement the space with some C02. I move air with an oscillating fan that's on 24/7. Temps are room temp.

Growing Style
-Growing Organically in 3 gal grow bags(w/perlite lined bottoms)consisting of an amended version of Fox Farm Ocean Forest:-1.5 cu ft(11 gal approx.) Fox Farm Ocean Forest
-3 gal(64 cups)Wiggle Worms Earthworm Castings
-1 qt(4 cups) Gia Green Glacial Rock Dust
-Roughly 2 gal(36 cups)Perlite
-4 tsp Hi-Cal Lime
-3/4 cup Espoma Green Sand
-3/4 cup Espoma Tomato Tone
-3/4 cup Algamin Kelp Meal
-2 tbsp Sunleaves Indonesian Bat Guano
(later addition)

I've been mildly inoculating the soil at this point with Kelp and EWC teas, to which I've added a little liquid fish to twice.
I amended the soil lightly(according to most soil mixes), but I did so with the thought in mind that I can always add to the soil population, which is what it's about in organics. Fox Farm Ocean Forest is already strapped with a little of everything I've added except for the tomato tone.

I'll update some pics tomorrow! Had to start somewhere :joint: Why not with the help of some of the BEST CFL growers I've seen on ANY forum! Period! Kudos to you all. If you're doing your thing, I've seen it and I'm inspired! You know who are! Roll it up:leaf:

Even if you're not doing you thing...I get it lol. It's all love.
First couple plants I certainly wasn't doing it well...But by now I'm starting to feel it :peace:

Cheers 2 chillin' Perkele :joint: I'm gonna get her up and running tomorrow, as it'll mark 5wks since I planted them all, and after I post this I'll check out what you got goin' on for sure. But success to you too! The is kinda/sorta my second op, but not really. I'm not counting the 1st because I had to pull em' upsecurity issue).
They were just some bagseed anyways..
But since then I've got some more pieces to the puzzle and ordered some seeds from Attitude to I'm set with those for a bit. I've got 7 White Widow, 1 Blue Widow, 1 Critical Jack, and 1 Auto Bubblelicious. I got a couple bag seeds from some nice smoke too, so I'm set in that depo.
In time I'm sure I'll end up adding more light, but for this go around, I'll stick with CFLs to see if I can do anything like whats been done here, and we'll go from there.
_____________________________

But to catch you up to Day 35 speed:

11/21-Started germinating the seeds via wet paper towel method.(Made sure to blow a little air in the bag and didn't start with the paper towel too wet. 100% w/seeds I bought)
11/22-All seeds cracked a little, so I planted them into a seedling starter mix(4:1:1 Whitney Farms/Earthworm castings/Perlite)
11/24-White Widow and Blue Widow break soil staring seedling phase
11/25-Bubblelicious breaks soil starting seedling phase
12/1-Week 2 Seedling Phase
12/8-Week 3 Seedling Phase

12/10-Transplanted them all from the initial 1gal grow bags to their final 3gal homes. Transition to vegging from a seedling.
I broke the root ball of the White Widow, kept other two intact. At that point it was stunted for a little I think. There was adequate root formation of all tho.
12/14-I moved so I had to take apart the old grow space and the plants got a few(2-3)more hours of darkness as I had to do that and move them in bags as well. I don't know if this stunted them or not..
12/15-Week 1 Veg Phase
12/17-I F.I.M'd the Bubblelicious and F.I.M'd and LST'd both Widows.
12/18-I F.I.M'd the White Widow(uppermost node was barely showing itself the day before)
12/21-I LST'd the Bubblelicous and reLST'd the Widows
12/22-Week 2 Veg Phase & More LST to Bubblelicious
12/24-Took of all LST and added some trellis to the top of my pot. Scroggin':joint:
(also took off a 3/4 fan leaves so that I could pull all of the visible flower sites to the surface in position for light)
*This stunted growth for a day I'd say.
12/25-Not being able to do my plant a favor and LIFTA(Leave It The Fidduck Alone), I accidentally snapped a Blue Widow fan leaf.
It literally JUST occured to me that I should have taped it back together to see what it'd do...I pruned it at the stem.

Now we are up to speed.
All along I've been trying to get the shortest plant that I could possible get because of the poor CFL light penetration.
Some might say I've been going to some pretty extreme measure to get these results..But I'm pleased so far.
I started out low stress straining by tapping the stems od the seedlings with bamboo stakes whenever I looked at them(multiple times daily). After a week I put the fan on them.
Once I got a few branches I began slightly pushing downward on all of them every couple days..
Once I got 5 nodes, I F.I.M'd them all and started tying them down. after a wekk I took all the ties off and added trellis to the top of the pot making somewhat of a SCROG.

I've pulled every currently visible flower site to surface to get some direct light, and I will continue to do so the entire grow.
To get light to the stem I've removed some fan leaves, and as for the lower inner budsites, I've moved leaves outta their way as best I can.
Initially I had lights just as close as you'll see all around the plant to get it bushy, but now I've sorta moved it all above and around, rather than laterally. I'm hoping to grow all the budsites up evenly while slightly lifting the trellis now. I'll be focusing on getting every budsites some loving more than anything else. Ive been doing a lot of touching of the plants, so I've damaged some leaves to date. But those leaves had to be sacrificed.
Every growers grow is his art. This style of art that I'm attempting to create, I'd like to call No Budsite Left Behind :leaf:

indeed, on my little plant. i used some fishing line and pulled the longer nodes off to the side for more light. seems to be doing well and they are getting big.
i cant wait to see some pictures ;)

Yes indeed :joint: Sick name by the way lol.
I used floral wire initially and I did it too tight and it cut into some stems a little bit.
I figured the downside of that it that is that the stems can do the healing. And in the end, that ain't so bad..

It's all about manipulating that apical bud(bending it/cutting it) to shift the auxin situation.
I F.I.M'd all of my plants this time around. My next 3 I'll top em and note the diff.
With a F.I.M cut, from what I've noticed so far is that you get LOTS of branching and lots of budsites.
However, I F.I.M'd my Bubblicios which is an auto-flowering pheno and it doesn't seemed to have responded well AT ALL.
It was initally my most vigorous grower..Now both the Widows have surpassed that...
Some from my experience so far, for yours and everyone elses record... I wouldn't F.I.M an auto again.

Cheers 2 chillin' Siq :joint:

Yes sir Growing three plants.....I won't be satisfied with less than 6oz's.
I've got a book called Buds For Less and the author/grower pulls nearly 1/2lb of of three plants growing in Miracle Grow, using 6-42w CFLs and some bottle nutes.
I'm not using his grow tactics so I can't hope for the same pull just because he got it, but I'm def. using his grow as a benchmark ya know?
I figure I one up'd him with a better soil mix, more lighting(quantity), and some C02 supplementation.
He stresses PH'd water and I've been watering with tap water that I just let sit out for a few days without PHing it, so if anything this will be the difference. We'll see here in the next few months. :joint:

Nice, yeah im using Miracle grow with 8 23watts and 2 42watts, i use almost to no fertilizer. I do use a pure blend soil formula PRO bloom. its a 1-4-5 20ML/1 gallon of distilled water. i normally poor in 1 cup of that and 1-1.5 cup of 6.0 ph lvl distilled water. i do that about every 3 watering. but majority of the time im just using 6.0ph distilled water. I just got done showing her off to my older brother. he though i was bull shitting about having one in flower. lol his eyes lit up light a 6 year old on Christmas morning.

I got roughly 3 weeks of flowering left. Not sure what strain it is or even a name of it. the bag i had was called green tangerine. but around here only god knows truly what it is. so im just going to keep it going until 3/4 of the white hairs are brown/gold
i hope to get 1oz from this plant. if i get anymore ill be stoked.

Here's a look around .

Keep in mind a few things that I haven't listed so far. Today isDay 35 from seed(Week 2 Day 3 Veg.)(This is how long they've been in my soil mix. Prior to I used 1 gal grow bags and seedling starter soil.)

Regarding the grow space...

*That shiny material hung up is Mylar blankets that I got from Amazon. I would HIGHLY recommend them for the amount of Mylar you get. A 10pk will do an average size bedroom I'd say. I got a 10 pack for $9...Used about 4 of them in my first grow space all over the place, and started thinking of the things I could do with them. So I bought another 10 pack for the hell of it lol. I've made a TON of things with them. I re-do the space again when it's time for odor control. Also while I'm thinking about it, packing tape(really sicky clear tape) beats duct tape in the grow space ALL DAY! I'm using a combo of the two.
Ryan Riley, author of Marijuana Growing Elite says that they're not as good a the rolls of mylar, but then he shows you a few pages later how to make a micro cab...using the mylar blankets...(crickets)
*The cardboard box that I'm making into a grow box is just one of those Mylar creations. The card board with mylar are just to try and shield any C02 that might not be falling right away
*The exhale C02, I can't really say if it's good or not but it does a hell of a job helping out with the placebo if anything!
*The temps in the grow space are room temp(between 70-75).
-ALL the CFLs that I have in there ONLY heat the space up when the door is closed. And then it jump to around 80.
I have one Little Blizzard oscillating fan cooling my space on low. It's cold out, so I just keep the heat off and house cool
And as for CFLs, as of TODAY, you can go to walmart or walmart.com and get a 6pk of CFLs for $2.00.
http://www.walmart.com/ip/GE-Energy-Smart-68513-GE-Energy-Smart-CFL-26W-T2-Soft-White-6pk/21695140
-I got mine about 3 weeks ago and thought it was a blip in the system. I've got more CFLs than I need right now.

*Water, I sit out usually 5 days before I use it just to help with the chloramine and chlorine if there is any, and I aerate my teas with a 10gal fish tank pump by bubbling them for a day or so

As for the plants:
-They've suffered their fair share of stresses(LSTing, SCROG, constant bending, I cut 3/4 fan leaves on each, stabbed a few accidentally, broke two, and the moved the grow space a couple weeks ago). I also constantly touch and tuck them.
-The Bubblelicious(Roza) which is now the smallest(but tallest) of the 3, was initially the most vigorous growing(width wise). Everything's been green so I know the soil is doing its job, BUT the after I F.I.M'd it I know I stunted it for a while. It's growing again now, but it def. DID NOT respond well to the F.I.M cut. Next time I WILL NOT F.I.M/top and autoflowering plant. Just LST
-TheWhite Widow(Blanca) which was initially the smallest is on full out GO! The lower leaves slight yellowed approx. 2 1/2 weeks in so I transplanted. I think it's a heavy N feeder. The leaves sorted themselves after the transplant. It's showing a little yellow again, so I top dressed with EWCs, and I've got a tea brewing with EWCs, my soil mix(for added compost), liquid fish, and Hi-P Bat Guano..It's EXCELLENT for a top/F.I.M cut and LST.
-The Blue Widow(Azul)of course lol also responded MARVELOUSLY to the F.I.M cut as well as LSTing. It's been an easy grown of NOTHING but deep green with it. Was a steady grower all along. I can't WAIT! To roll an Organic Blueberry White Widow spliff :joint: Damn that sounds too good!

Oh yeahh..They all just started developing just a couple pistils too so I'm pretty sure pre-flower is up within the week, so I've just up'd the P in my tea

And for some photos..
photo(3).jpgphoto(4).jpgphoto(5).jpg Blue Widow Day 35
photo.jpgphoto(1).jpgphoto(2).jpgWhite Widow Day 35
photo(7).jpgphoto(8).jpgphoto(9).jpgBubblicious Day 35.
photo.jpgphoto(2).jpgphoto(1).jpgphoto(3).jpg A look around the space.IDK how to rotate the the moment and can't be arsed with it right now :leaf:

Love the posts, bit much to take in at first with all the bold and what not, but at least there's plenty of information.

Also, lighting solution is fantastic! Haha, RIU does it right once again. Welcome to the crowd :leaf:
Definitely looking forward to seeing how this progresses.

I appreciate u DT & yes sir I'm here to put some work in!
The lights tho, they were also a vision that I saw before I did this all. I had one initially in the apt and I looked at it and the light bulb when of lol. Go get a couple more of those and some Y-splitters, there ya go..30 sockets between the 3 of those lights. They were $16.99 a piece @ Target by the way. LINK-> http://www.target.com/p/room-essentials-5-head-floor-lamp-pink/-/A-10704219#prodSlot=large_1_1
^^^^They're now $15.99.
I got my Y-splitter on eBay from China(hopefully I don't burn down haha), and this nice adapter for $10 that converts 1 socket into 4.
LINK->http://www.ebay.com/itm/200419307542?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 <-1 to 4 Socket Adapter

This lights on the left and right are those lights from Target not all the way assembled so that I can hang them, and the one on the bottom is the same fully assembled. In the middle I've got just a corded socket hold that 1-4 bulb adapter, with y splitter in each giving me 8 bulbs.

And everything was the bottom dollar here except for the seeds, soil, and amendments.

But picture me spliff in hand just starting into a new empty closet...

:joint:........Hmmmm.....:joint:.........Ok.....:joint:.......Aight.......:joint:........Got it haha Let's Grow!:joint:

That's all you need right there to make it happen.
Man and his intellect. Oh and a lil' Mary :leaf:

You got a journal or thread so I can check you out? and thanks for the props

^^^^^. Is that one plant SCROG'd in that container? Marvelous is what that is.
But I gotta ? for ya.
What's your experience with trying to clone a F.I.M'd plant?
And as far as the CFL veg. length, I read that older bud is better and understand that to be fact?. So are you with an extended veg?
I'm going with an extended veg. with my Widows.
My Bubblelicious is an auto-flower, so what I'd like to do it veg them the duration of the Bubblicious, that way I can keep the lights at 18/6 without having to divide the plants at least. I've been fairly rough on the leaves and stems with all the bending/LST/tucking so I've managed to keep them bushes, but do you think I can manage them for 2/3 more months in 3 gals soil? Or is that pushin' it?

And I know I just bombarded you with questions lad, but I'll return the favor around the way.
I feel like I know so much, yet there's so much more that I don't you know

And in regards to the photo above, You've gotta believe me when I say that I sat there for a good minute looking at that photo trying to think of what to say about that seriously lol.
Then I found that emoticon which saved me 10minutes and said all I had to hahaha :joint:
