1st things first, thank you to everyone who's laid the foundation here, advised, critqued and shared knowledge freely :joint:

Here's a few observations and things I've learned in my short time here, as well as a fair amount of time spent prior to my number of posts.

1. Use the search bar
2. Read some literature, Jorge Cervantes, Greg Green and any other "bible". If you live in an area with a bookstore of any sorts find the horticulture section, you can stand there and take mental notes if your too paranoid to buy the book. (there's even torrents available in pdf and video)
3. Know what your goal is, do you want to feed the world? Or just take you and yours? (more my objective)
4. If you're gonna go tent get some velcro to help seal any lightleaks.
5. If you're going outdoors get a map or two of the area (scout 1st) if guerrilla. Plan any trips, full moons cut down on needed artificial light. Take different routes and clear out the area you are growing in. Seed/clone indoors first (t5s are great) and use a deeper root structure to start. Cut the bottom off your container, the roots will find their way down if started inside then transplanted.
6. Use clean water (!) I've gone natural (inny) with little more than bagseed and two treatments of potash and yielded more than a zip dried/cured. I truly believe quality h2o goes a long way. Get a brita filter then let it sit for another 12-24hrs. I'm starting molasses & bat guano myself for feed.
7. I'm a soil guy, get good soil to start, I recommend Fox Farm, if you can read this you can order some. If you have to use MG watch your babies very close. Be prepared for flies and such, get a soap pesticide.
8. flush if you're using nutes, please flush for 2+ weeks, no one wants to see sparklers while lighting their smoke. Sparks a fine for the 4th of July and the bedroom, but not medicine.
9. Run a test run with your lights, timer, and space, record the thermometer temps and adjust your height, and fans accordingly. It's better to know what your working with as you germ/seed before you burn up, dry out any plants.
10. I assume you've told no one that doesn't need to know. If you live with someone they need to know, don't be sketchy. It will bite you in the ass. Have a plan if the shit goes down, have a hunting license if needed, trigger locks, none in the chamber.(yea I'm country). Don't keep a scale in your house (!) Know your states laws regarding what your getting into. (retainer?)
11. Spend $ on a timer, and ventilation if you're going hid. MYLAR.
12. Be a good neighbor!
13. Get a shredder to get rid of any papertrail. If that's not feasible toss any paper into random trash, or burn what you can. PrePaid credit cards if you have to use them (!)
14. Obtain as much DIY info as you can, example: why spend money on hangers, if chains and some S hooks will suffice. Find your local commercial/residential lighting store that sells bulbs, you'll find you save $ by buying commercial rather than trendy suppliers.
15. Observe your grow as much as you can especially within the 1st 24 hours of water, feed, lighting, darkness. Plants have a way of telling you what they need or have too much of. Start small and work your way up with feeding. Shock is a helluva thing.

Yea I'm burnt and rambling but thought what little I know may help someone. If any of this helped you at all +rep please. I'm missing a ton and am sure I'll be bashed a bit here. Oh btw before you crank up any lights switch to incandescent lighting for as long as you can and when you turn your op up change those incandescents to CFls. KNOW YOUR CLIMATE :weed:
