Multiple passes with ISO?

i use 99% ISO. Is there any reason not to use the same ISO and run multiple batches of trim through it. In other words, run a batch, filter it. Put It back in the freezer and then run through another batch of trim.

Does it lose its effectiveness at all? Seems like it could be a good way to use less ISO, get it purer, and reduce the time for it to evap.

I am not a chemistry person. I am sure there is a max saturation rate but not sure how to find it. Maybe Fadedawg or qwizoking can tell you that number.

I know EAs distill and reuse Etoh and the like, not sure exactly how they reuse butane but I know they do(loop setups). It is MUCH more cost effective this way.

So I don't see why you couldn't reuse IPA in a similar matter, although not sure if just filtering it would do the trick.

That said, IPA is pretty cheap, so not sure it's worth the trouble. I was using 99.99% Reagent and it was only like $70 a gallon. Plus you can get lower grade stuff for a fraction of that price and it works just as good.

that's what I remember, I know he definitely covered max saturation for coconut oil
id also be afraid to lose some of the oil from the first run by sticking to the 2nd batch of trim

it's not productive. I was trying to think of a good example, you ever had someone take a hit and then blow the smoke into your mouth or whatever. taste like shit right? the goodies hit the lungs and get absorbed faster than the fowl crap.. another example perhaps is a bong, as the water gets dirtier what happens to the smoke? When it starts to get saturated dissolution rates are cut and the selectivity of the solvent diminishes

also particularly troubling with iso is the formation of peroxides

now I pay $10 a gallon for 99%.. I would just do that

$10/gal?!

You buying in-bulk, in-person, from a supply company or something? It costs more than $10 to ship a gal of liquid.

Damn, lucky. I can't find 99% anywhere local. I can get pints of the grocery store 99% online for about $6 ea with free prime shipping. Liters of 99.5% tech for $12 with free shipping.

Gallons for about $25-$30 ea after shipping if I get 4 at a time. But that is only the 99.5, the 99.99 costs about $70 with shipping.
