Howdy RIU,

First off, feel free to post comments about this journal. I've had a bit of trouble finding journals about some of these strains so I figured I'd do one myself.

Background info:

Not my first grow, but first time as a licensed med card holder and first time in rock wool.
I'm using a mix of GH & Technaflora nutes.
Clone/Veg room is 2x4 space with around 700w of fluorescent light
Flower room is 4x8 tent, sealed room w/co2 and 2x600w HPS.
The first flower run is multi-strain to test weight/flavor of each before dedicating a 4x8 space to one or two strains.

Strains I'm running:

XJ-13, Hash Plant, Blue Dream, Bio-D, Gucci OG, Pink Kush, Kashmir Kush, Shire (SDxSSH) and Purple Cheddar.

The Shire & Purple Cheddar are from bagseed off some really pungent nugs. The purple cheddar has a great funk of gdp and cheese. It's smells how purple would taste. :bigjoint: The Shire is super menthol haze smell. Not sure if I'll get a female but I have 3 or so beans of each.

The Purp Ched, Shire, and Kashmir will sit out on the first flower.

Here is the progression of my mothers thus far, I'll snap some photos of the flower room tonight when the lights are on.

Okay, here are a few shots of the flower room. The ladies are about 2 weeks into flower. The BD is racing along throwing out big ol' bud sites but they are all on their way to chunky town. The Gucci got all kinds of burnt up in a mishap a week ago but she is slowly creeping back.

The floor layout is as follows:

Left side of tent - right side-

Blue Dream - Gucci OG XJ-13 - Pink Kush
Bio-D Hash Plant - Pink Kush

right

right - The XJ-13 is getting trained down around the tomato cage since it's going to be a tall one.

left - BD with the long pistols in the back left

I took 3 XJ clones and 3 BD clones last night and put their mothers in the flower room. Unfourtunitly while taking clones I dropped the shears and broke off a HP branch. It had two possible clones on it but they would have put me over my plant count. :wall:

Day 18 of Flower update. The Gucci OG has made a full recovery from it's early trauma. The bio diesel is the most sensitive to nutes out of the bunch. I'm running them around 1000ppm and it's just a tad yellow from it.

The humidity was getting high with co2 so I have transitioned to a vented room. This will be my first time in a few years I've grown without co2 so I'm interested to see a comparison. I know some people say co2 in tents isn't even worth it since it's not truly sealed. Also, to save money I've decided for the next grow to switch to coco hemp buckets. Rockwell is just too damn expensive to run a 6" cub on a uni slab for 24 plants at all times.

Also - anyone have any recommendations for image hosting sites? Tiny pic kinda sucks.

Okay, day 20 of flower. The ladies are looking lovely since I switched to one medium size feeding a day vs one large feeding every other day. Last night I took off all the lower fan leaves that weren't catching light. Airflow beneath the canopy was drastically improved and they look to be happy for the haircut. Since we are going into week 3 I'm starting kool bloom to the res tomorrow. I have never used kool bloom in the past but I have heard good things.

I am running a bit of a mish mash of nutes. I ran out of a few bottles in the technaflora line, and have been slowly moving over to gh for budget reasons. Right now they are getting GH Micro, GH Bloom, CalMag, B1 Red, Awesome Blossoms, and Kool Bloom. I'm excited to see the results. So far minus the bio d's sensitivity they don't seam to mind one bit.

Day 24 - The Blue Dream is by far the chunkiest so far. It's got trichs all over the fan leaves so I'm pumped for some good bubble hash. I gave them a very small dose of kool bloom dry last feeding to give them a rev up. They are swelling up nicely. Here are a few close ups of the BD and some group shots.

Right on, right on, right on. Day 29 of 12/12 and things are looking mighty fine. I really like these upside down tomato cages for the sativa dominant XJ plant. With a little training it really helps keep an even canopy with the more indica varieties.

Day 33 since flip -

Damn I love watching these ladies grow. The smell in the tent is getting stronger and stronger. I've woken up a few times at night and noticed the dank about the house. To help with that I taped all the hoods sides to make sure they weren't pulling out a bit of the skunk funk with the exhaust. I'm legal but I also have close neighbors who I don't want to disturb with any leaking smells. Also, just started adding a nice hydro carb called "Sugaree" to the res and will keep it in till flush.

While I was clearing some more fan leaves today to let some light through to the lower bud sites I bumped an XJ cola. It was like a sweet citrus explosion. Even though it's taking a licking with notes, it's lower buds are so pretty right now. Super vibrant and tight green and orange nugs. It's looking like hash plant will be the first to finish probably followed closely by gucci go and blue dream. It's a bummer I can't dial the nutes for each individual strain, but even the plants with burn (xj & bio-d) keep putting on weight. I will probably just do like strains together in the future now that I know how they all respond. Here's some bud porn for you all. Chime if if you see somewhere I can improve!IMG_1531.jpg

Day 52 Flower

Yesterday I chopped down the Bio Diesel plant to make concentrates from. It was the poorest genetics wise out of the bunch and I needed the room to get my 2 favorite strains blue dream and xj under the light. The bio-d mother will go off to a friend in Boulder who digs the strain. My hash plant is coming down in 10 days or so I gave her a nice big dose of carbs with plain water today, and she will be given pure ro water from now until harvest.

Day 61 - All right all right. This will be the last update before the chop this weekend. It's been a real pleasure to work with these genetics, they are top notch fire. I cut the Gucci OG down last night and it took my wife and I two hours to trim so it should be a decent yield, maybe 4ozs or so. The XJ and blue dream are the real winners when it comes to yield and smell though. As most of the fan leaves yellow out, the colors are really coming through in the flush. Here are the final pics.
