They should be good, I'm sure I'll need to pop a bunch of beans to find a lady as special as Stella though.

but would self pollinated plant produce same quality seeds? same phenos etc? i know u gave me that book to read on, this is still on my todo list, just jumping ahead with a quick question :)
I need to swallow a book or two to keep sane, very quiet times over here. Pass ol' MH a link there if you'd be so kind, very interested in breeding...

Btw ordering AgNO3 and Na2S2O3 from the same source is totally safe. They're used together in black and white photography. That's what you have that light tight space for right? Developing film. It's not like you're ordering PdCl2, hydroquinone, and a mercury salt and nothing else.

So it looks like Drue has at least self pollinated so hopefully some pollen has gotten on Stella as well. I'm going to try to collect it as well.

Stella fell over and needed to be tied up.

Here's her main stalk:

Here's M4 who needs a name now that she's shown pistils.

DR4 also showed pistils today.

Still waiting on the Jacks showing sex. If one is going to be male I would rather it was J0 because it's being a touchy plant.

lookin all great for ya bro!
how much time left for stella till harvest? if polinated, will she be able to finish her seeds? can you tell that plant was polinated? e.g. pistils recede or somth?
how tall is stella atm? could you make a closeup pic on one cola?
Also what are stella parents? prb u mentioned somewhere but i can't find that.. uhh so many questions hehe

Thanks man. I would like to be harvesting Stella in 4 weeks but I'm going to give her an extra 7-10 days to help them finish up. She has a really wide harvest window so it's not a big deal. When a plant gets pollinated you'll see the pistil turn brown (ideally you want to do it early in flower to be able to see this best) and shortly after the calyxes swell up because of the seed. Look at the calyx under the node above my thumb in the first picture. It's easier to see on an isolated calyx like that.
Also Stella is a cross of a Super Silver Haze mother and a DJ Short Blueberry male father. The seeds were used for an outdoor crop and Stella apparently was exceptional.

The good news is that Drue dropped some nanners. Hopefully they released pollen. Definitely looks like we have some seeds forming.

The bad news is that there's been an outbreak of unauthorized male parts! DR4 is looking more male than female. :( I was really careful with the STS but I have to wonder. So for now we're down to M4 that's shown only female parts and the Jack F2s that haven't shown sex yet.

Simi asked for a shot that shows how tall Stella is. The pot is 10" so she's 17" above it.

The goddamned lumberjack was at it again. I spent a while trying to tie everything up to some stakes. I didn't get a before pic but Stella was all over the place.

She's still leaning like mad but she's pretty well held up now.

Jack 0 is still being temperamental. It's started preflowers but they're too small for me to tell sex yet. Probably tomorrow though.

Jack 1 is doing much better. No signs of sex though.

Here's M4, she's looking stretchy and like she'll need support. I'm really going to have to start using a screen attached to the pot or something. Caught a whiff of her pulling her out to water her today and she has a really nice fruity smell to her.

Hey man, looking real good :) hopefully J0 and J1 or at least one of them will turn out fem. I was asking the height but also a close up on random cola :) so I could check the density, the structure, formation.. I dunno really, all the details I could possible see :) everyone is usually take bigger pictures but rarely closeups :) I'd like to see what result to head for :)
So if you could also get that that would be very nice, thanks! :)

It's tough to see in the picture and I need to get a better picture but this lens isn't suited to macro shots, but you can see some seeds in Stella's buds! I need to look at a calendar and figure out how far along everyone is.

M4 is definitely going to need support and soon. It's really packing on the flowers fast for a strain that's supposed to go 70+ days. It's looking like it could give Stella run for her money for yield.

I noticed this on her today as well. I bet with some veg she'd have had 13 bladed leaves. I don't think this plant had 3 weeks of veg from sprout.

And here's the lady Jack in her larger pot.

Stella is on day 46 so I'll be cutting her around 70 days. Drue is on day 32 and might get cut along with Stella so I can remove the potential pollen. M4 is on day 18 and the Lady Jack was 17.And I looked it up M4 had 23 days of veg under 2 23W CFLs. It could have been less but I wanted to cut a clone before throwing her into flower.

I took these yesterday of Stella

I think I prefer the uncropped pic more, what do you all think? I did slightly touch up the pic when I cropped it but I could do that to the larger one easily. I'm thinking maybe a less intense crop. I do really like the image though.

ETA: I like this crop the best.

And some pictures from earlier today.
We'll start with some close ups of Drue. S/he's frosty, that's 36 days in. I'm going to try to collect some pollen from shim.

Here's some close ups of Stella. She's 50 days today.

Here's the Lady Jack who is just a pain in the ass even for a JH! Bitch has an eating disorder!

I'm going to need to do some more super cropping on M4 and I need to go get some stakes today to support her. She's going to need it very very soon. She's already waving around whenever I move her. Next time I grow one of these it's getting topped for two and those are circling the pot higher. I need to use something to train the plants around though.

In other news I think this may become my primary lens for canna photography. The superior fine detail is way more valuable than the other lens ability to zoom.

nice update man! Now those are the pics I've been lurking around for :)
Stella and drue so frosty.. Gratz.
Nice cam you got there.. Annoying thing about closeups, that they focus on few milimiters and the rest gets blurred, still that last hairy shot looks real decent :)

and lol that M4 stem is twisted..

You've also been mainlining some strain? How's the mainlining technique to you?

Thanks, hopefully we're getting a good macro lens for xmas. Then I'll be able to post some much better bud porn! The reason so little is in focus is it's a wide angle lens. It's just better glass than the other lens I was using.
Mainlining is problematic in my veg space because I have so little headroom under the lights, I end up needing to have the plants kind of next to the lights so it's more like a vertical lighting setup. We're going to be setting up an area for growing some herbs that I should be able to use for vegging one plant that's too tall to go under the lights but that's a little ways off.
I should have twisted M4 around something more. She's leaning all over the place.

Plants are looking good as always duck..

So you're getting a new macro lens for your camera ay? Is there one you have your heart set on getting? I should be getting my new camera in about another week or so and the only thing that I don't like about it is the fact that you cannot adjust the f/stop in macro mode I think its stuck on f/4.1. I believe I can change the iso which will help some, but I guess Nikon doesn't trust its users to get the best settings.

Here is a macro pic at f/4.1 iso 125 and 12.3mm

I bet this photo would have turned out better with the iso a bit higher, maybe 400 with a tripod would have made the pic a bit sharper.

I'm only just starting to research what to get.
It's hard to have a lot of adjustable settings on a camera like that.

I do to, though I don't use the full manual settings of my camera very often. At least not when my wife isn't around.

Yea, your wife is a photographer right? That sounds like a fun profession....

You are a die hard canon owner, so what type of camera do you use for your photos?

She has a degree in photography but got a practical job as well.
I become a more loyal owner every time I buy a new lens :)
I have an EOS 50D, I got it because it could shoot a bit faster than the 5D and was still way more camera than I could really use and was like $3k less.
