DWC is insane for root growth. Last night I checked the net pot to see if I could spot roots. Didn't see any, went to sleep. woke up about 9-10 hours later, WHAM! I've got about 5 inches of roots!

That's FAST. Faster than my basil.

Quick update before I go to sleep.
I've made a means of measuring growth, in the form of a LEGO ruler. See, five LEGOS equals two inches. So I made colored groups of five, and slapped them together.

Now I can more easily gauge the plant growth!

Mr. Stripey is just past eight inches tall. The basil is still kept short, it's about seven inches tall. I won't be harvesting any more basil presently, and will give it some time for growth, then trim it back a little bit and re-shape it.

Well, progress is nuts.

Remember that LEGO measuring stick I made yesterday for measuring?

I already have to extend it. In the space of about 6 hours of darkness the Tomato grew two inches and is almost touching my light.

Which means I'm going to have to raise my lights AND raise my DWC pots for the basil and other stuff today.

And people say you don't get good results with T5HO. SHEEEEIT.

nice, I am fixin to use my waterfarms for some herbs soon. I switched to soil. Also I took my botanicare table and filled it with organic soil.

I am organic so I got all kinds of leftover teas at the end of each week. These go to the herbs, sweet basil and tomato and lettuce and chils. They love them. Got some huge shit.

Under a t5 you can foliar feed!

Yup, I have three kitties. Easy DIY bubble buckets FTW!

I do need to get some silica and calcium. Prolly just get it from grinding up calcium vitamins and buying some silica blast or something.

Well, it's been a short period since updating. The Basil is, with constant trimming, about the size of a basketball. The Mr. Stripey, well, it's getting HUGE. I'm more concerned with it since I know the basil is fine at this point and realy needs no further updates, so I'm just going to post tomato plant pics.

So the tomato has been quite busy since the last update.

From root tip to top leaf the tomato now stands almost four and a half feet. I'm going to need to drop a support stick in soon, this plant ribbon isn't going to work as a base support much longer!

So, umm. Yea. Mr. Stripey? I just finished having to move the light up yet again. I also managed to get the LEGO ruler mounted to the wall! Since the bucket tops were not level, I decided to mount it halfway between the top levels.

Mr. Stripey is about 18 inches tall, now.

The basil is kept at about 9 inches, and is loving life.
