He asked his chief of staff if she knew anything and she denied it..
actually, he first said he told his staff to tell his chief of staff within an hour if they knew anything.

later in the 4 day, 3 night press conference, he slipped and said he asked his staff to tell him or his chief of staff right then and there if anyone knew anything.

that's him forgetting the careful script that he devised.

WOOOPS.

Yet somehow you think an in depth interview with said liar would provide more information??
well, now that she has been fired, all she has to say is "he knew".

or the dude that was begging for immunity yesterday will get it and then the beans will spill.

If someone lies to me in a material way I have nothing to do with them after that.
yeah, and he said he was not interested in knowing why someone would suddenly decide to close down a bridge, and someone else would reply "got it".

doesn't sound to me like something a former prosecutor would do.

he's trying to bury this one.

He fired her and did the right thing.

What else could he have done? (assuming he didnt know)
it took him 24 hours to fire her and the other dude, and the reasons he gave were complete horseshit.

he didn't say he fired them for shutting down an interstate bridge, the busiest in the world, and making kids sit in buses all day, and killing little old ladies, and interfering with emergency responders, or anything like that.

he said he fired them because they betrayed his confidence. and remember, christie is the victim here!

poor christie. a victim of his own horrible judgment and the environment of bullying and retribution that he cultivated in his own office.

watch this one keep going, unlike all those fake scandals you dumb fucks tried to manufacture.

exactly.

he didn't fire them for their criminal actions of using an interstate, public resource to inflict political retribution on an entire town, he fored them because they lied (which betrayed his confidence).

you slow, boy?
Why would he fire them for criminal actions? A court of law decides if your guilty of a criminal charge. Have the aides in question been indicted? Is Christie an active member of law enforcement or working in a prosecutorial capacity for the DA's office?

Are you always this stupid or is it a jersey thing?

Why would he fire them for criminal actions?
so if one of the people your girlfriend hires to sell meth to kids stole your mullet gel, would you not fire them for their criminal action of stealing?

if one of my trimmers punched a 91 year old lady, i would fire them for that, not lying to me about it.

several new characters have been added to the mix including:

regina elgea who was taking over for o'dowd (when he becomes attorney general) she was CC'd on emails..i had mentioned that based upon bridget kelly's words "time for a little traffic"..this is something that clearly had discussion amongst a group of people and she (bridget) was dropping the hammer..when i used to CC someone at kushy fortune 500..it was in capacity as follow to conversation or act previously held and/or to keep someone in the loop of conversation on said act and future action to be taken.

Well, I heard it here first, folks, in the News on RIU. I have arrived at my new level of insulation. I don't even need Jon Stewart, now. :)

I heard yesterday, this is indeed getting ugly. Something about the closure message, given by the State Workers to screwed over motorists.

Betty Q. People weighing in to say, they were all told exactly this. "You have your Mayor to blame for his actions." So, not only do they cause the mayhem, but a blame script was published and followed.

How can any right thinking person take sides in Politics? To me, the only reason we elect people is so they can STOP their Aides, from vendetta. What else is there to leadership? The rest is just a soap job up to the VPs or the voters.

If no nuts and bolt leadership, they are petty warlords, like out current President's IRS, NSA, etc. And, really folks, only the Boss can stop the behavior.

I read in to what Blue Sky said. (hey, maybe she does have blue eyes, OK?) If you don't heads up your boss, your head may find itself rolling out the door.

We call it blindsided. If a Boss let's himself be blindsided, well, I seriously, do not have much a job beyond that. It is my main responsibility for my boss. A failure to be blindsided. A failure to not know. It is what the job is, being a boss. If you don't know, what good are you?

If your folks are hiding from you, what did this boss do wrong? He is a bully that cannot coach, so there is too much fear in system.

this is HUGE..christie's going down.

heheheee..

When it rains it pours."
Just as we are digesting the news of Governor Scott Walker being in the center of a criminal scheme, I thought I'd check in on how the prosecutors are doing with Governor Chris Christie, and found Esquire is just breaking this this exclusive story. Scott Raab and Lisa Brennan report EXCLUSIVE: PROSECUTOR IS CLOSING IN ON GOV. CHRISTIE, saying "indictments against four cronies are near certain, sources say. Only question is if David Samson, Christie's longtime crony, will flip. They claim to have two inside sources.

Two sources with intimate knowledge of the case say Fishman’s pace is quickening -- he has empaneled a second grand jury, and the U.S. Justice Department has sent assistant prosecutors and FBI agents to work the case. ... Christie’s Port appointees -- not only Samson, but former PA Deputy Executive Director Bill Baroni and his oddball sidekick David Wildstein -- all face near-certain indictment and are being pressed to hand up Christie, as is the governor’s former chief counsel, Charlie McKenna.

Wildstein, portrayed as the mastermind behind Ft. Lee’s traffic problems, has made proffers to Fishman’s investigators -- hoping to trade information to the prosecutor in exchange for gentler legal treatment -- but Fishman has cut no deals with anyone so far, and the looming indictments have encouraged Christie’s PA appointees to sing. “Don’t underestimate what Wildstein has on Christie,” says one source. “And Wildstein and Baroni have both turned on Samson. If Samson doesn't give Fishman Christie, Samson is toast.”

Federal charges in the bridge closures potentially include both intentional interference in interstate commerce and -- in the cover-up that ensued -- obstruction of justice. The use of Port Authority money, raised by issuing bonds, to pay for non-PA projects will likely result in charges of securities fraud and conspiracy to commit same; the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is also investigating on this front, along with the Manhattan District Attorney, who’s seeking evidence to support state charges of falsifying business records and official misconduct. Charges derived from David Samson’s numerous conflicts of interest while serving as a PA official could, in Hoboken’s case, include federal charges of extortion under the Hobbs Act, and New York state charges of official misconduct and corruption.

I've always thought David Samson played a significant role in this as it seemed unlikely that David Wildstein, an outsider could have arranged such a conspicuous scheme without significant internal backing.

We should set this line to music.

“And Wildstein and Baroni have both turned on Samson. If Samson doesn't give Fishman Christie, Samson is toast.”
