More vertical space can plants just grow normal

My closet I'm growing in is 40" wide, 8 feet long, and 8 feet tall. Do I need to do a scrog or can I just let plants grow normal under 1 600 watt cool tube hps doing 2 plants ? Or maybe just top the plant once ??? ..... I scroged before just because I was working with limited vertical space in a diff setup.

That would totally be up to you.. Were you successful with your scrog?

I just finished my first scrog and am not sure I would do it again! I will know more after it is dry and weighed. I pull around 6.5 ounces per plant just letting them do what they do after topping multiple times and I am positive I will not see that from the scrog.

what I do with the 600 watt hps. I put them into 3 gallon pots. and veg them 1 foot tall only 1 foot tall no taller for max yield with the 6 plants. and the plants need to be topped with 4 to 6 main tops. and use bamboo poles to hold the top of the plants up. this will give you from 1 to 3 ounces average per plant depending on strain co2 so on . if you do 4 plants then do the same but veg 1.5 foot tall. if 3 plants then 2 foot tall and 2 plants is a waste of light and 1 plant 3.5 foot tall . in my set up I have tried all of this I rather have the six small plants and they get 100 % of the light to the bottom of the plant you don't need to worry about trimming the bottoms as much and the plant will not grow super tall and . what im saying with a lot of plants the light will only penetrate 1.5 foot deep so if your plant is 5 foot tall and the light only goes 1.5 deep all the bottom of the plant is pop corn buds. again I have tried them all weighing the harvest DRY ! max yield 6 plants 1 foot veg topped as many times as you can . most I have pulled this way was 22 dry zips with 2500 ppm co2 and pushing the nutrients to the limits. with hortilux bulbs . 1 plant under the light from seed I pulled 15ounces dry. the plant was huge and topped . 3 plants from a clone was 12 ounces . seed plants tend to pull more yield then clones by up to 30 % believe it or not. but the average grower will pull 1 to 3 zips per plant regardless how its set up. there is a lot of big talk people pulling insane amounts of weight ,, if it was like that in real life every body would grow weed , here in Michigan legal state. a lot of caretakers professional weed growers . are going out of business because they don't pull enough yield to pay there electric bills . most of them use 1000 watt lights with 3 foot veg plants . any ways . I gave a lot more info then you asked for hope it helps .
